Sega Superstars Tennis bombs, marked down to $20

Despite our enthusiasm (and the enthusiasm of Sega fanboys everywhere) over Sega Superstars Tennis, a release that drips with fan service, the game failed to inspire consumers to rush out and buy the game like they did with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games? Not enough Mario, perhaps? Or olympics?

Last 4 Wii titles I picked up are Emergency Mayhem ($39.99), Okami ($39.99), MiniCopter: Adventure Flight ($29.99) & Wild Earth African Safari ($29.99). I would have picked up Okami for $49.99 & would have considered Emergency Mayhem, but I never would have picked up MiniCopter: Adventure Flight & Wild Earth African Safari for $49.99. Same goes for Sega Superstar Tennis, if Sega had priced it as a perceived value for what it is I would have considered it, but $49.99 is simply too high a premium for a game that most will likely tire of within an hour or two of play.

It's actually not a bad game, so $20 is a great bargain. I wouldn't have paid $60 for it, but I'll pick up a used copy for $17.99 minus my Gamestop discount.

They've been putting out crap lately...and Sonic is and never will be Mario.

Face it Sega, you wasted money by dev'ing a tennis game and the majority of the people in the world have no idea who half of the characters who are in it. The game should've never been made, period. Terrible business decision....

It is true that most people aren't as familiar with sega characters as they are with nintendo.

I played the demo and to be honest I was expecting the game-play to be intuitive and easy to get into, but that was not the case. I think that's one of the main reasons why gamers didn't like this game. I Sega's mascots but I can't put up with bad game controls.
