Mario Kart Wii Brings Out The Cheaters? The Bugs?

Kotaku writes: "There's word that cheaters (you bastards!) are apparently moving in full force on Mario Kart Wii. Either that, or there's a bug. The Time Trials mode is getting hit hardest with all sorts of impossible times appearing. According to Mercurys Phoenix at the Official Nintendo Magazine forums writes:

'I've only seen it on the Snowboard track - a guy with a time of 53 point something or other seconds. There are about three other people with exactly the same time. Like others have said, on the replay the guy just does one lap (excrutiatingly slowly) and then turns the opposite way just after the finish line. Then the replay doesn't stop.
Personally, I think its a bug. I've only seen it on one track and there are others with the same time.'"

Ah.....the joys of playing games online eh? lol That's why I'm not a fan of always playing online and I rather like playing single player games or multiplayer locally instead. Just found out Gran Turismo Prologue has the exact same problems with online cheaters in time trial mode.

yeah, I was talking about the wall thing. I know it's really Polyphony's fault that you can do that and hopefully they release a patch so that your car slows down severely if it grazes a wall, it just pisses me off that I can't beat those guys times fairly because of that exploit.

3 - this thankfully sound like a minor time trial glitch.
They have deleted the fake time already and i guess that will have to be enough.

I just hope there ain't gonna be major glitches that can be used when racing online.

On Gt prologue ive heard if you get hit into a wall by someone then you get penalised and then theres the old wall riding malarky mentioned by leshin. Kind of defeats the point of making it a driving simulator with these flaws hope they release a patch soon

At least crash team racing had glitches (like jumping over certain walls that you aren't supposed to jump over) but they required great skill and you still needed to race well the rest of the time to get a good time. But it happens in most racing games, the engines need to be _very_ robust to stop this sort of thing happening.

they have a half a point but then again casual gamers usually have money just not alot of time to invest in games... so i dont the trend stopping cause of a recession. most are use to playing games on an expensive computer, wii is a better alternative.
