Are Rock Band Drums like Real World Drums?

Was Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopoulos spot on when he said that Rock Band would "training an army of a million drummers"? Maybe. It, at the very least, helped train one, Attack of the Show's Kevin Periera. He recently applied his 98% expert-level skills on Coheed and Cambria's "Welcome Home" to some real life Coheed and Cambria.

1.1 - He was a drummer long before ROCK BAND came along...
Kevin Periera played the drums at least one other time on AOTS a couple of years ago.
That was a long time before Rock Band was ever released.
Good for him, getting up there and playing with a real band, but that ain't gonna happen for the rest of the Rock Band faithful.

I actually watched this on AOTS and the Bret Micheals thought he was the real Coheed drummer and told him he sounded great. lol

On a side not i dont think Kevin plays the drums outside of rock band.

Yeah there is absolutely no way he could perform welcome home that well without ever trying it on a real drum kit. I play the *real* drums and while i can certainly see rock band improving skills with the snare and tom toms, there is no way it could help an amateur play the bass. On a real drum kit there is a pedal for the bass, and using three limbs at once is much harder than using two, so don't expect to master drums just because of rock band.

p.s. hes a pretty sick drummer... better than me! ;)

?!?!? Huh you use 3 limbs on rockbands drums. It has a bass pedal and on expert you play all the real bass hits that are in what ever song you are playing.
