Electronic Arts has released the official box art for the upcoming Wii version of NCAA Football 09, and it's definitely the most intriguing cover from the series so far.

I dont thing its meant to be casual or goofy. Its an actual mascot for a college football team. Michigan State.

See, it is hard for EA to use real college players for their covers, (college players can't receive any money from outside sources or whatever) So using a mascot is easier. In football games, they don't use the player's names, just the number.

College fans will notice this instantly, which apparently the majority of you aren't. No big deal though, if I wasn't a football fan, I would have had the same reaction.

if that is the case, why is Darren McFadden (Arkansas) on the 360 cover of the game? In fact, the wii title is the only one with a mascot. 360, psp, ps2, ps3 will all use actual all star college players.

It will sell, it says "football", like if soccer games like FIFA go of the shelves because it has some soccer players on the package.
