1.1 - That is pretty cool

Although the xbox360 has so many games on the list, I would have to think that the list turned out this way because, I don't know maybe not many people knew which titles would be a true launch title for the PS3.

Even 360 fans would have to admit (at least the fair ones) that MSG4, Assassin's Creed, and Killzone. Would be on lots of people most desired list if they were PS3 launch titles.

I know they'd be on my list.

It's going to be a good holiday season for both systems, and a great season for those that has the privilege of owning both systems.

And as we all know, "Halo 3" should of been number 1 on the list, to be honest not enough people probably know about the newest Halo game "Halo Wars" yet for it to of been number 1. I do see where most of the games would of been included but again, where's Halo 3?

I read something like think at like 1UP or something (can't remember.) Well either way there were no Wii-apps up there and PS3 had like 4 of the top 10 and this also included PC titles...

Hahahaha! Wow, anyone who believes this survey is really a unique type of person. They say right in the article that they went "big brother" on their visitors and watched where they clicked and what sites were the most frequently visited. There are far too many factors that could contribute to this list being insufficient or even false.

Zelda, Fable, and Alan Wake should still be on that list in my opinion, but the list would be completely different if I were to make it.

This story is pretty much irrelevant and should not be posted as official news on this site in my opinion.

7 - You guys are ridiculous

This list is compiled from the number of views of news stories on the games. Since this is only for the week of x06, and only those games had front page stories, those would be the only games casual viewers of the site would read. If there was a week where only ps3 news appeared, they would have a disproportionate presence in the top 10, and the same goes with the wii. Heck, the ps2 could get over half of the top 10 if the only games on the front page for a week were ps2 games.

Please read my earlier post about why the results are so "shocking." If the front page stories on Ign for the past week had been Warhawk, Resistance, and Motorstorm, they would have been on the list. Instead, the only major video game news coming out of the one week that information was taken to make this list (as opposed to any other week that someone could have posted an article like) was x06, hence all of the x06 titles on the list. You guys don't honestly think that Halo Wars is the most anticipated game in the world, even more anticipated than Zelda, or Halo 3, or Gears, or MGS4? It was just the major front page story for the week. Don't try to read into this list and get information which isn't there.

that answers itself there. The games aren't even out yet. Plus 2 out of 3 of those games are new franchises, and Warhawk is way too old to count. So naturally, those games haven't established themselves yet. Sure they looks nice and get great previews, but nothing is certain till the consumers get there hands on the game themselves.

Ps3 fans are far and few now a days. Sure some of you hang out on this site...but you don't represent most gamers. Most gamers have lost interest in the ps3. The titles they are most excited for with the ps3 don't even come out for another year or more. Final Fantasy and MGS. Some of yall care about resistance, lair and motostorm...but thats because you guys are extreme fan boys. Most gamers could care less about those games. Sony is going to have an uphill battle this next gen. Ms and Nintendo have all the hype this time around. Sure it sounds fishy to some of you...but the truth hurts if you are only interested in the ps3. It sounds right to me. I'm excited about games like MGS4, Devil May Cry 4, the new Ratchet game (whenever that comes out, come on 2007), Guitar Hero, Resident Evil 5, White Knight Story, Motorstorm, and some others. The fact of the matter is that, for me, most of the games that I'm looking forward to are coming to the ps3, and this may not be true for other people so they should get 360's instead. People like you who believe that one console is obviously superior than all others and that everyone must think the same as you are being intellectually dishonest, letting personal bias cloud your judgement which should be coming to the logical conclusion that each console appeals to different people for different reasons.

Oh and by the way, this story has no real meaning. It's a measure of what games had news stories about them read the most during the week of x06. That's why Halo Wars (it had the front page article on ign for almost the whole week) is at the number one spot as opposed to a ps3 game, or Halo 3 for that matter. No ps3 news and a ton of frontpage 360 news in one week = many more articles about 360 games being read. This is also the first week in a long time that Zelda wasn't number one, and SSBB and Super Mario Galaxy weren't in the top 5 for that same reason. If you still try to make the claim that this story proves anything except that there was a lot of good 360 news during x06 and that SSBB has amazing staying power (it's only news is that old trailer, which I still watch almost once a week because it's amazing) then you have to face the fact that you're nothing but a pathetic fanboy.

So the numbers make sense. Either way, it's not IGN's opinion of top titles. It was just popularity of the pages at the moment. PS3 fans already got their information fix from TGS.

TopGamer continues to say that Sony's losing popularity amongst gamers, which is a bit odd considering the fact that PS2 is still outselling the 360. If anything, people are getting more and more hyped up about the PS3. I literally hear people talk about it; Motorstorm, MGS, and Devil May Cry are titles that keep getting brought up.

I see this list and I ask myself where is God of War 2, FF12, FF13, GTA Vice city stories, take your pick of upcoming Gameboy games, MGS4, White knight story, DMC4, GT HD, GT 5, Halo 3, GTA 4, Fifa 07, PES 06, those are just off the top of my head!

Let's just be real and say this list highly debatable and mostly flamebait. We will be able to shy away from these types of list in alittle more than a month when both Wii and PS3 hit the market!

And to topgamer, how does anyone know who or what the "average gamer" is? Anyone talking about the "average gamer" like they are in the know needs to get their heads examined ASAP

Those were the most visited pages on IGN for the week, and it's easily explainable since X06 was just held and TGS was over two weeks ago. In response to PowerofGreen, 360 fans comment a lot more on the PS3 than PS3 fans. In fact, the Xbox 360 section is usually pretty empty since everyone's in the PS3 section.

Everyone has at least some opinion about the Playstation 3, and it's great/free publicity. As for knowing Sony's every move, they've been the most unpredictable console company I've ever seen. They've revised the PS3 console specs something like 3 times before its release, changed the controller twice, and then added an upgraded HDMI port, etc. No one knows what the hell they're going to do next. And that was just the hardware side of things...

I see people asking if Resistance, Motorstorm and Warhawk aren't big titles.

Actually, after seeing the latest ingame footage. No. I WAS actually excited about Resistance before. But the latest footage did show me COD2 mixed with BF2 and aliens added. It ran straight forward as a standard FPS, the movement was static, the graphics allright but not shocking, the enemies well...

It won't be that AAA title that will knock out this Christmas. It's just a descent start, like COD2 made on the 360. Motorstorm same story, but even worse actually, nowhere close CGI E3 2005 and I think it will only be fun for 10 minutes. I wouldn't pay 50 or 60 euro's for it at least. Warhawk? That's on the bottom of the list, flying into radars and mountains without penalties and the walking part looks worse then the first GTA.

So actually, this list will be biased because I see no PS3 title at all. Even Assassins Creed should be have mentioned to be 360/PS3. But still then I think the list of the top titles are accurate.

I see no current PS3 title that could knock out the first 5 titles on there for sure

Look at your list most of those games have number behind then. GTA saved the PSP. Rehashed games over and over. Those games are from PS1. Try new games out okay. Kudos to Bungie for not making a Halo4. Moving to new games and ideas are great. If these were PS3 games you guys would not be calling it fanboy writing. Get a grip. Of the matter is, most PS3 fans are waiting for PS3 sequals. Hey it's all good MGS, Devil May Cry, FF13 and some others.

While most Xbox360 games are Brand new titles. I will always be less excited for SEQUALS, just cause all your expecting is better graphics instead of an entirly new Game in all aspects. Same ol, same ol.

I'm not surprised about this list. Eventhough I will eventually own a PS3 just as I've asked most gamers I know they will stay away cause of the price. Gamer 25+ have other things to worry about instead of an expensive console regardless what your getting. (ofcourse we have already gone over the useless features).

For now I will get FF12 for my PS2, Zelda for Wii and I won't be able to keep up with the 360 lineup this holiday season.
