It reminds me of 2 old tv shows, Magpie Moments (Which is Fallout) and Peacock Dreams (MGS).

I'm a multiplayer guy, 95% of what I own are multilayer FPS and this game is my SP game of 08. I own Bioshock, Oblivion and Mass Effect but thats it the other 22 games have MP. In 08 all I wan't is Frontlines, Tiberium, Battlefield, and Quake Wars, but there is Ninja Gaiden 2, Star Wars Force Unleased and Fallout 3 comming. Fallout 3 looks just amazing and it's made by Bethesda and they are virtual magicians to me. If anyone here has played the Fallout series know the story is great so I would expect the same if not more out of Fallout 3. The only thing I can think of that would make this game better is MP LOL :) or some coop.

EDIT: LOL sup MK, I was just kidding about the MP, well accept the co-op thing. I would have loved to go online with about 6 of my buddies and explore Oblivion, Mass Effect or take down a couple of Big Daddy's with a friend or two.

Jason 360, while I do love Fallout and agree with many of your points, I actually believe that Fallout 3 and Fallout in general is meant to be singleplayer because it's an RPG that you are to build your character, one character to become the the ultimate badass in wastelands.
The same goes for Mass Effect and BioShock which I do believe the best to be sp. Of course I'm a 99& singleplayer guy :)

well never played fallout myself but i have heard good things. MGS1 made me almost sell my N64 back when it first came out. Its still all a matter of opinion but i gotta ride wit snake. Those of you who won't be getting will be missing a huge part of gaming history...i can guarantee you we are gonna see some things that havent been done before and will have us talking for months. Fallout 3 may be the same so if it is i guess i'll get that too. Regardless though mgs4 is my most anticipated game of the yr.
lol @hating on snake cus he suffers from accelerated aging. Yall snake haters can keep hating but in the end mgs4 word of mouth will have you playing before you know it

MGS,FF13 and versus 13,killzone 2,resistance 2,gears of war 2,ninja gaiden 2,fallout 3, any of those games can be the biggest games of 2008! but who in particular no one knows only when they are released we can know!my impressions is that they will be killzone 2, MGS4, and gears of war 2,FF13(and maybe resistance 2)!!

scottie2521, seriously, Fallout 3 is not FPS. It's an RPG that can be play with 2 different camera views: 3rd person like Mass Effect and first person like Oblivion. It's a deep and classic RPG before anything.

What is Fallout 3? Well, it's sequel to the best RPG ever created, it's being made by Bethesda, devs of Oblivion and Morrowind.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that after BioShock, Fallout 3 is the game that was nominated for the most Game of the E3 awards at E3 2007. BioShock was fully finished game. Fallout 3 was 10 percent done back then.

To be fair, there must be alot of console gamers in this thread because Fallout is seriously one of the greatest PC games of all-time. MGS4 IS more anticipated than Fallout 3 because of its mainstream status and appeal, it's on a console AND on PS3...a console just waiting to be awaken by a mainstream game that displays what the PS3 can really do, but Fallout is by no means a lightweight game. Fallout will definitely be a great game in 2008, but MGS4 is just way more anticipated...no question about that. The minimum PC requirements to play a PC game over the last couple of years has been kinda crazy, so I think alot of gamers aren't looking forward to PC games like they used to.

Marceles...while agree its pretty apparent that not many in this thread even know what Fallout 3 is about...I don't think it has anymore of a following than MGS4...

console owners dwarf PC gamers...MGS is a near 10 million selling franchise...there isn't one territory in the world that isn't anticipating MGS4...and being a western RPG for the most part, japan pretty much couldn't care less about Fallout 3...MGS4 is going to move PS3's at near holiday sales I would bet for a few weeks...

Fallout 3 will also sell well...but its also packed in to the holiday lineup of 2008, which already has plenty of great games coming also...

I am excited for both...but I think this article "americanizes" what is most anticipated...there are definitely parts of the world that do not agree with this one bit...

These guys are just going by preference and their own opinion.

is fallout 3 gonna be on the Ps3? I hope pc gaming dies soon COMPLETELY so that console gamers can get all those mmos and rts. Thing is some people don't wanna spend 300 to 500 dollars on upgrading their pc just to play the game the way it'smeant to be played in high settings.

with you but, there is NO way that MGS4 is anticipated as a game that is shipping on 3 platforms.

Now if you were to ask: What is the most anticipated PS3 game, then it would be MGS4 hands down, but thats not what they asked here.

If you think MGS4 will sell as much as Fallout 3 in the first 3 months then you will be disappointed. In the long run MGS4 may sell more over the span of 4-5 years, but i don't think someone that buys it 3 years down the road considers this a highly anticipated game otherwise it would be purchased very soon after release.

No need to get personal. I prefer mgs4 because the postapocalyptic world and grey areas never did anything to entice me for the game, but some people like it and/or cant follow the mgs4 plot without becoming confused but to each his own.

Thank you! Anticipation is just that. It is all opinion, they never said best game of 2008. It's the one they are looking forward to the most. Sure some people might think MGS4 is most anticipated (myself included) but not them, it's their article, they decide which game goes where.

oh yeah i forgot about that- oh well, i guess il have to play it at my friends house, but i would really like to add it to my collection

it's the only thing that is pushing me to buy a 360, but i doubt it will be enough- i need the money to buy all the great games being released this year

EDIT: oopsie, how could it forget about SSBB- there are just too many games to play it's intoxicating
