New Soul Calibur: Legends Trailer

Destructoid: "Aerox continues his streak as my favorite tipper for today by sending in a link to the above trailer. I've been following the progress of Soul Calibur: Legends for a while now, mostly as I think it's an interesting experiment in what Namco can do other than 3D fighters, but the more I see, the less I'm impressed by it.

That clip up there is footage of a gentleman named "Lloyd" hacking his way across a number of different backdrops. "Lloyd" is a character from Namco's Tales of Symphonia, and my -- and presumably your -- first impression is that "Lloyd" is a really stupid name. In a game about fighting with deadly weapons, I can fully accept a guy named "Mitsurugi", I enjoy names like "Ivy" and "Cervantes", and I'm even cool with a character named "Lizard Man", if only because it's an apt description of a man who is also a lizard. "Lloyd", however, sounds like he should be flicking a bee off the gas station hot dogs he's just set out for display, while ogling a picture of Katie Holmes' braindead ass on the cover of OK! Magazine".
