Zelda Wii release date confirmed?

A recent Gamestop listing seems to have revealed the release date of the highly anticipated Wii title, Zelda Wii. According to the listing, the game will emerge in the U.S on 1st November 2010. The fact that the dates for titles such as Monster Hunter 3 and Metroid: Other M which are also mentioned in the listing, matched with the calendar dates that Nintendo had unveiled, makes this a very strong case.

Gamestop listings aren't always accurate, but this certainly got my hopes up.

Damn it im so excited for this game.. Its literally the only reason I havent sold my wii

Yup, finally the Wii can hope to make a mark this year with quality gaming content, with Metroid Other M followed by this(if true). I seriously hope this is true. We have waited enough.

Zelda is the only reason i still have a wii. Looking forward to a few wii games this year, looks like finally i will get to wipe the dust off the thing.

As a GS employee, I feel the need to point out that release dates in our computer system listed as "the first of" any month are 99.9% of the time best estimates and are in no way confirmed. As for the fact that Metroid and Monster Hunter show the correct release dates... um, duh -- their release dates HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED; you stated that already! Pretty much as soon as an official release date is announced, our system is updated.

Sorry, but I guarantee that this release date is not correct.

1. If you've ever looked up release dates on game websites or through GameStop, November 1st is the DEFAULT date to list for any game that is planned for the fall, or for "holiday" launch. Dozens of games are listed in advance as Nov. 1st on Metacritic, GameStop and many other sites, not sure why they chose that month (might be the start of one of their fiscal quarters), but that date is a dead give away that is fake.

2. If that's not proof enough, November 1st falls on a Monday this year. Game releases in America are never on Monday (except for maybe 1 notable exception in the last 3 years). Almost every single company releases their big games on Tuesday, as that is the default release day. Microsoft occasionally launches their big games on Fridays (like Gears 2), and Nintendo often launches their big games on Sundays (like New Super Mario Bros. Wii). But NO COMPANY launches major games on a Monday.

And trust me, I've looked at the data, I have a massive list of every major release that came out in the last 3 years (anything that sold 100,000 or more in 1st week), which was part of a big research project I did. I think there was one or maybe 2 games that came out on a Monday, and neither was very important. Definitely not of the level of Zelda. Zelda will probably launch on a Sunday, as is Nintendo's style.

I won't really hold this against you, since you may not have known all of this info before and probably got excited seeing the listing, but anyone who follows game launches or data very closely can corroborate what I'm saying.

This had to happen. Even if the dates are wrong, its pretty obvious that Nintendo has to come out with a new Zelda game this year. There is just no other go...they dont have anything else at all for the holidays.

Just sayin'.

@Article: That placeholder-date is cool.

I don't think this is real, but if it is......
D@mn, and I thought it would come out on december. 7_7
