Crystal Defenders R2 Launches On WiiWare

Crystal Defenders R2 launches today in Europe, after a relatively successful launch in North America a few days previously. The game is now available worldwide for download via Nintendo's WiiWare service, on the Nintendo Wii.

GamesRadar: Crystal Defenders R2 Review

Complicating matters in R2 are waves of enemies coming from two different directions. Then you'll really need to put your general's hat on. Thankfully, the game can be paused mid-attack and you can spend cash on hastily building new units to plug your breached lines. Providing you haven't spent it all in baulked preparation. And, sadly, it's all ruined by the issue of money. Make it 800 points for both and people would be happy.

VGC Review: Final Fantasy: Crystal Defenders R1

VGC writes: "As you may or may not know, a tower defense game places the player in charge of laying down a series of defense mechanisms called "towers" to stop an army of marauding bad guys. Usually the villains have a set path to march through your camp/castle/base, so you have to use quite a bit of strategy to keep the masses at bay. It was just a matter of time before home consoles got a version of Crystal Defenders, Square's foray into the "tower defense" genre that was originally released on mobile phones. Just a short time later, a complete version of Crystal Defenders was released on XBLA and PS3, but the Wii got something different: Crystal Defenders R1."
