Das Review: Mushroom Men

Das writes: "On the front of the Mushroom Men box, there is a quote that claims this is the best game since Mario Galaxy. While that may be pushing its luck, one thing is crystal clear: this game is a stellar platformer, and it's a welcome addition to a very sparse stable of hardcore Wii games.

You control a mushroom hero named Pax and must guide him through his quest to end the conflict between the different tribes of mushroom men (The Spore Wars, naturally). You'll walk, jump, glide and more throughout expansive environments that appear normal to humans but are seen here from a three-inch-tall mushroom perspective, and they are beautiful. The developer has done a fantastic job bringing this mushroom world to life. The game encourages exploration and discovery, as Pax will come across a lot of different pieces of scrap that can be crafted together to form a variety of pretty cool weapons, such as a tin-can saw or a butane-powered flame thrower."
