IGN: Ultimate Band Hands-On

Though there have been several music games before the creation of Guitar Hero, it was Red Octane's design that really opened other publishers' eyes in the potential for playing popular music on a game system. Disney stopped by the office recently to show off close to final versions of its own take on the genre: Ultimate Band for the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS.

The focus here is a younger-skewing demographic in a design that doesn't require the added expense of add-on peripherals. The games will be going up against hefty competition, but in IGN's early play there looks to be enough to attract a good size musical crowd to Ultimate Band.
