Jolt UK reviews Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Jolt reports:

''Let's get a couple of things covered before we begin:

First of all, you're going to see a lot of complaints in this review. What you need to know is that these are merely the kind of complaints that have prevented SSB Brawl from receiving a 'perfect' 10 as opposed to being a list of reasons why you shouldn't buy it. If you've got a Wii, you really should buy it.

Secondly, we're not going to punish the game's late appearance in Europe in terms of score. Nintendo's attitude to Europe is often lamentable, and we, along with most other gamers in the continent, think they're contemptible for holding a game as great as this back for so long without a valid excuse. Nintendo's shameful treatment of Europe shouldn't mean that you should be dissuaded from experiencing a game that's as much fun as SSB Brawl, though, so you should get your own back in some other way.

Now that we've got that out of the way, let's get on with the review. SSB Brawl is the sequel to Super Smash Bros Melee, which in turn was the GameCube's answer to the N64's Super Smash Bros.. SSB Melee is arguably the finest game that was ever released for the GameCube, and is one of the greatest multiplayer games on any format. If you're already a fan of SSB Melee, your new favourite game is going to be SSB Brawl. Everything that was great about Melee is either just as good or better in SSB Brawl, not least because it's out on a console that more than three people own.''
