Michael Bay Rumored To Bring Us a Metroid Movie

Michael Bay, famous director of Pearl Harbor, The Rock, Armageddon, Transformers, and The Island, has a gift for delivering fast paced action and special effects to the big screen is to be rumored to be talking with Nintendo about directing or producing a film based off of Nintendo's Metroid series.
Each decade film tends to focus around themes like musicals in the 1940s and chick flicks in the 1970s. The new millenium (2000-2009) has been centered around super heros and comics, for example, Spiderman, Ironman, X-men, Superman, and Ghost Rider. There is even a Super Hero Movie which is being filmed by the makers of Scary Movie and Epic Movie.

As 2009 approaches and we head into a new decade one can only wonder where film will take us next. This is where the speculation starts of a Metroid Film produced by Michael Bay. As the gaming universe has now been expanded through the use of the Nintendo Wii, more and more people are now recognizing video gaming jargoon and characters. The Wii did something for video games that no other console besides the NES has been able to do, and that is make video gaming a mainstream media format. In fact, Nintendo holds six titles out of the 10 top selling video games according to VGCharts. So the rumor is that film makers will be looking to profit next off the popularity of video games, and in the case of Metroid, Nintendo's renewed popularity.
