UGO: Battle of the Bands Review

UGO writes: "One of the reasons the rhythm game craze has hit so hard in recent years is because of the peripherals. Pressing buttons to a beat is nothing new, but putting those buttons on a guitar-shaped device brings the level of immersion to an entirely different level. It comes as little surprise then that developer Planet Moon Studios' Battle of the Bands for the Nintendo Wii falls short of delivering a truly engaging experience.

If nothing else, we can at least applaud Planet Moon for attempting to deliver on a good idea. In Battle of the Bands, groups of musicians face off in a series of one-on-one matches in which they pit their respective musical styles against one another. No matter the song being played, the style of the performance - Rock, Hip Hop, Country, Marching Band and Latin - is dictated on a moment-to-moment basis by whichever band is in control."
