Australian mass media mingle with Nintendo's Wii

Nintendo Australia is in over-drive behind the scenes, preparing Wii for its big debut in Australia on December 7th, 2006. Last week, an opportunity was provided for the mass media and Australian publisher community to get their grubby hands on Wii.

According to the rarely-Nintendo focused GameArena, Nintendo Australia representatives lugged some Wii consoles to a Sydney nightspot, where games such as Wii Sports, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy were on show, to an enthusiastic reception.

The publication points out that traditionally, female attendees don't generally get too involved when it comes to covering games, but Nintendo's Wii was a whole different ball game. "Here, not only were the ladies getting involved - they were sticking to it," wrote the website.

"Everyone really embraced it and had a ball," Nintendo Australia spokesman Vispi Bhopti told Aussie-Nintendo.com. "It was great!"
