Team17 talks lack of online in Worms: A Space Oddity

January 19th, 2008 - Go Nintendo publishes an email from John Dennis of Team17…

"Firstly, thanks for taking the time to mail. We appreciate the time and effort involved in mailing, and enjoy hearing from the people who play our games…. we think it's one of the things that has kept the brand evergreen for so many years.

In answer to the issue you highglight in your email, I'm afraid that online will not be present in A Space Oddity. While I appreciate many gamers would like to see that feature, we're not able to change the release date due to contractual obligations with THQ.

I'm really sorry that I can't be more helpful in this instance, but hope that you appreciate the effort and love that we *have* put into the game. Whether you end up purchasing it or not (and I can understand if you're a hardcore fan of the game, maybe "Worms Open Warfare 2? on PSP or DS: two online-centric versions of the game, would be a flavour you'd enjoy more), I'd like to thank you for taking the time to mail and say that we greatly appreciate the feedback we get from fans of the game."
