That huge Acti-Blizz acquisition wasn't worth it ... They should've stopped at Zenimax and instead focused "rescuing" individual studios like Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, Crytek, Volition or Gearbox etc (much better than trying to devour the whole of one of the largest gaming publisher)
IMHO, with no $70 Billion deficit, these studio closures would not have happened ...

XBOX studios output has been a disaster, their developers have zero job security and GamePass constantly increases prices (with another one expected near the release of Call of Duty). Xbox sales are down and so are GamePass numbers.

Even if he does resign, it’s not going to matter. Him & his team has made so many bad decisions over the past 10 years, that the damage done to the Xbox division is irreparable.

This is unfortunate & I really do feel for all of the ppl that just got laid off because of the bad decisions execs like Phil made.

We can skip all of this “he’s a nice guy & a gamer” BS. None of that matters when someone lost their job that they needed to provide themselves & their families.

I think he knows his time is up but he will do it on his own terms. Which is to say he will want to leave on some kind of game success so the short term memory folk can forget about the past 10 years and say "oh look at how great he was"

What I say is, I'm not buying anything from you or giving you any success so you can have a golden parachute. I suspect some reviewers will have that in mind too, rightly or wrongly. This is how having a person who is toxic to the brand hang around is bad for Xbox but good for PlayStation. People have stopped listening to what he has to say or offer.

Crazy that fans wanted the Zenimax/Activision sale to go through. People were rooting for it and Xbox fans were excited. This is the Fallout, pun intended; of course there is position redundancy when you own so many studios.

The sad truth is M$ buying up the industry was the start of fewer people developing more games. This is how they make money people, lowering costs while owning more of the pie.

Definitely don’t like the direction they’ve took Xbox. I’ve been an Xbox guy since the og Xbox one and they’ve made it so there literally zero reason to pick Xbox over ps. Sucks because I think everyone was better off with them competing, I don’t mind switching companies but with him practically throwing in the towel ps will dominate the market and set the prices. Bought a bunch of studios to close them all down, awesome strategy

Should have happened years ago after that disastrous 2020 Halo Infinite world premier gameplay debut but Phil managed to alleviate heat by purchasing Bethesda (how ironic) shortly after. He's produced nothing but failures during his 10yr tenure as lead.
- It was Phil's decision to kill off Scalebound and host of 1st party studios and IPs (i.e. Phantom Dust, Fable Legends, Knoxville, etc.) in development early in the XB1's tenure pretty much sealing the console's fate.
- It was Phil decision to have Xbox Studios place more emphasis on multiplayer games as opposed to single player driven experiences. As he deemed single player story-player driven games as "relics of the past" (his own words).
- Phil's decision shell out millions to social media influencers to stream exclusively for Mixer, only to prematurely shut the service down a year later.
- Launching the Series S/X with zero exclusives. Giving consumers little real reason to purchase the console over a PS5.
- The entire fiasco with the Perfect Dark reboot being that the how the developer team was formed, it was practically the inmates running the asylum.
- Ignoring Arcane Austin's concerns over Redfall (seeing the writing on the wall early and that it needed to cancelled) because he was desperate for Gamepass content.

The list goes on and on. I'd goes as far as saying he's even worse than Jim Ryan. At least Ryan had record breaking console unit sales to lean back on, despite all his shortcomings.

Boycott everything from Microsoft Gaming, if everyone did this they would surely make a massive dent in the MS gaming side of making money. But we all know people will most likely be just mad and not do anything, yeah good job. 😑
