PSN Downtime 8/26

So... The scheduled maintenance today was just that, scheduled maintenance.  After everyone was harping about the ideas that this was the beginning of Home's open beta in NA, or the installment of Life with PS, it turned out to be exactly as SCEA had said it was.  I don't see why everyone is surprised.

LWPS is due out by the end of the month (Sunday at the latest), but will most likely come out with either the PSN store update on Thursday, or during the highly anticipated Firmware 2.5 update that should be out this week.  Hurray for screen capturing, woooo!!!

Needless to say, this is going to be a big week for SCEA and the PSN as a whole.  From the v1.5 of Warhawk being implemented this week on the game's 1-year anniversary, to another big PSN update (The Last Guy, etc.), it would only make sense for them to throw something else in there to make it a 1-2-3 combo to further cement the PSN's place in the world of online gaming.  As HipHopGamer has stated recently in his show, I believe that the PSN has just recently surpassed XBLA with exclusive content and accessibility to users.

But to bring this thing back on home...
PSN downtime was simply maintenance as SCEA has stated, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't expect big things from them later on this week.  For all we know, their maintenance could have just been them preparing the PSN for the implementation of LWPS that will go live later this week... Hopefully within the next 48 hours.

I welcome any questions, comments, or ideas...
