PlayStation brands dominate Spanish charts

Posted on December 4th, 2007 at 04:14 EDT

It is no secret that the PlayStation brand today is probably the most well recognized gaming brands in the world. Despite the slow start of the PS3 from a global standpoint, PlayStation still holds a firm grip in the gaming culture.

Evidence of this can be traced to Spain where PlayStation titles spanning various platforms continues to dominate sales charts.
For the more recent sales figures in Spain, the top ten games are as follows:

1. WWE Smackdown! Vs. RAW 2008 (PS2)
2. Assassin's Creed (PS3)
3. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS2)
4. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
5. Need for Speed ProStreet (PS3)
6. WWE Smackdown! Vs. RAW 2008 (PSP)
7. Mas Brain Training (DS)
8. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3)
9. Imagina Ser Mama (DS)
10. DragonBall Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (PS2)

From this it can be seen that seven of the ten games all came from PlayStation brand platforms with 3 of them being from the PS3. All titles came from either a Nintendo or Sony platform, with no Microsoft representation. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 and WWE Smackdown vs Raw for the PlayStation 2 has held high positions on the Spanish sales charts for some time and continues to hold strong.

With success like this in markets such as Spain, it proves that PlayStation is well and alive with possibility of this translating throughout Europe, to Japan, and North America. heres the link: http://www.psu.com/PlayStation-brands-dominate-Spanish-charts--a0002075-p0.php
