OK, it seems that before MadWorld was released, Wii-haters said that the game was going to suck, because it was on the Wii. Now when the game was released, the reviews came in, and the Wii-haters started to say "I wish this game was on PS3" and "This game would sell much better on PS3/360". My response was "It is never coming to PS3/360. Just wait for Bayonetta". Now the Wii-haters want this game, even though they thought it would suck. Here is my response.
I keep hearing people say, this would sell much better on PS3/360. My response is, especially when the NPD data came in is that Wii games sell much slower. Call of Duty World at War sold 40,000 in it's opening week (WORSE than MadWorld) and as of April sold 1 million. Seeing how that is 6 months, it proves that MadWorld will hit at least 1 million by September. The Wii has a hardcore audience:
Game |
Sales |
Resident Evil 4 |
1.55 million |
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles |
1.25 million |
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed |
1.22 million |
Red Steel |
1.18 million |
Call of Duty 3 (yes 3) |
1.15 million |
Call of Duty: World at War |
1.09 million |
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return |
960,000 |
An inside look at Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft's ambitious open world Japan where your every move is affected by weather, season, and lighting systems.
Sony has launched the PSN Store "PlayStation Indies" sale this May 15, and this one is full of smaller titles at a discounted rate.
Assassin's Creed Shadows digital storefront pages are up, and it confirms the game will require an internet connection, and MTX.
One thing that's messed up about this, is there will be people playing pirated versions of this without that restriction, while the paying customers will suffer. Just like how some games will have lower performance on PC due to DRM, while pirated copies don't.
Anyone that wants to say something like "Who doesn't have internet access in this day and age?" There's plenty reasons people won't always have access, such as living in rural areas with spotty coverage, for example.
Three single-player games in a row they've done this with now. Those f***ers weren't kidding when they said gamers need to be comfortable with not owning their games. As a physical collector, and somebody who enjoys Ubisoft's open worlds, this is a nightmare scenario for me. Absolute scumbag company.
The game would best be served as a PSN/XBLA title. It's a lot of fun and excitement at first, but it gets boring quickly. Luckily, it's so short that you barely notice how bored you are before the end of the game. Your list is absolutely NO proof that MadWorld will break a million sales by September (lol), but it IS possible. Is barely breaking a million sales THAT impressive on the console with the largest install base, though? The best game on your list was easily Resident Evil 4, and that game should've have sold at LEAST 3 million. There is a hardcore audience that owns Wiis, but they are definitely the minority.
Well I think part of the problem is that the massive install base is slightly infalted and the people who complain about the lack of hardcore games are the ones that sold their Wii and then complain that games lke Madworld are Wii-exclusive.
It all comes down to a sense of entitlement which it seems a lot of hardcore gamers have. Devs/Pubs have little to no obligation to gamers and they can put games on whatever system they want.
Because its completely brutal. The Wii controls make the game, so if Madworld turned up on PS3/360, it'll have to be a whole new entry in the franchise and maybe have additional graphic effects over the black and white, because you just KNOW people are going to complain about a black and white next gen game.
Great game though. Hope for the future of the sideway beat 'em up.
It's a good game...why limit it to just one console when it can easily be on all 3. This is what I dont get what do developers gain from exclusivity??? Thats less money for them isnt it?? When ff13 was announced for the 360 I wasnt dissapointed at all, and Im a ps3 guy. This whole exclusive stuff is ridiculous. Its basically created fan-boyism. The only reason a game should be exclusive is if its only possible on a specific console. Other than that share the love you retarded developers.
Firstly, Madworld is not a great game... its an ok game. The gameplay is repetative and meh, the character models are blah, game modes are lacking and controls are not responsive. Not many PS3/360 gamers are interested honestly. Secondly, the game failed. Get over it. Like most hardcore games fail on Wii. Selling 1 million copies on a system with a 60 million install base is no big accomplishment. When Gears came out, 360 had a 10 million install base. Gears sold 5 million... see the difference. The only successful Wii games have either 'Mario' or 'Wii' in the title. No mas Nintendo, no mas.
