Why do people argue over nonsense?

Hello, English isn't my first language, so if I make any mistakes please forgive me.

It may because I am getting older but I hate the fact that we don't have a mature site for gamers where we can discuss what really matters to us. On n4g (a site I visit daily) all I see is this console is better, sale numbers,we have better games. Basically fanboys/trolls

We have people here who actually have more than one account to troll. I just don't get it and I am really to a point, where I don't want to visit any gaming sites. All we have are fanboys arguing over which console is better or why sale numbers matter for their favorite games and nothing else

I wish n4g would bring back the open zone for fanboys and trolls and be really really strict with people who make troll comments. Lifetime bans. (Not in open zone but normal comments be really strict)

There is a article about whether Xbox one can catch or surpass ps4 sales, and you should go check out some of the comments, majority of them are about arguments or straight up blind fanboys trolling.

Do we all get money from Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo for blindly supporting them? If it wasn't for Xbox live, I don't think Sony would have push or even offered psn plus.

If it wasn't for Sony, we would have been stuck with a Xbox one full of drm stuff. Why can't we look at the positives and the competition between Sony and Microsoft. Competition is a very healthy thing and it pushes others to evolve and at the end of the day try to offer better content/deals to us gamers

I would personally love to see a bit more mature gaming community, which in return would mean better communication with publishers/developers. But why should we do that, there is no fun in that. Sadly that's why publishers and developers know how to play with fanboy emotions.

There is strength in numbers, that's especially true because it made Microsoft drop kinect and focus on core gamers. Phil spencer may have never gotten to be the head of Xbox brand, but because Sony was doing so well that Microsoft had to get a gamer in to run Xbox brand. I love Phil spencer and I only game on ps4, but I still love the fact as the head of Xbox he owns a Ps4 and talks about Sony executives in a nice manner full way

We should all take note from Phil spencer, he is a gamer so are we. But the difference is he is mature yet a lot of us on gaming sites need to man up and discuss gaming issues in a mature way.

I really hope one day we have something like that community wise.

Thank you

Unfortunately, most N4G commenters are blindly loyal to either the Xbox One of Playstation 4 (mostly to the PS4). This makes it impossible for them to see their own hypocrisy, let alone have a normal conversation.

For the first six months of this year, Sony loyalists have ragged on Xbox fans for the Xbox One supposedly having "no games for the first six months of the year". "MS has no games, no games, no games" they screamed. "MS only releases games for the holidays" they screamed. Those are complete lies of course, but the delusion spread and spread. Xbox fans made lists to show that there were numerous smaller and indie games released for the Xbox One during the first half of this year, but they were completely ignored by Sony loyalists trying to make a false point.

Then, when Sony's end of year lineup was announced at E3, and it contained no AAA exclusives (unlike MS), the Xbox contingent threw it back at the Sony fans. They screamed "Sony has no games, no games, no games", and completely ignored the numerous smaller titles coming for PS4 later this year. Naturally, PS4 fans showed the lists of upcoming games, but the Xbox loyalists didn't want to hear it. Maybe they figured turnabout was fair play, since it was the Sony fans who started spreading the "no games" lies long before E3.

It's complete nonsense to claim that Xbox One didn't have any games early this year, and it's complete nonsense to claim PS4 has no games upcoming this year. Unfortunately, people WILL continue to argue about it because of their blind loyalties.

i actually would like Microsoft to release some of its AAA titles other than fall, because this way they can get some real exposure. but its not just MS almost every publisher is at fault for fall lineups

they all hold back games to release in a 3 month window, than they blame us the fans for not buying every single game that launches during fall

sony
MS
EA
UBI
Activision
R*
etc,

they all would only like to release games in fall.

imagine this if sony holds everything back next year to release at fall, it could look something like this for example:

God of war 4
The last Guardian
GT7
Uncharted 4
the new FF game coming to ps4/ps vita announced at e3
horizon

but i would rally hope we get games throughout the year from every publisher.

another example is just cause 3 and hitman, both games are coming in december when most people had already spent their gaming budget

but like i said its not just MS like PlayStation fans make it out to be, almost every publisher does that along with sony

It's the Internet. Sadly, that's the best answer I can give you.

The Internet provides anonymity which fuels the need for people to act without a filter or reasoning. You go to a sport site, you see people acting just like people here. You go to a car site, same thing. You got to a news site, same thing.

The only way to ensure sensible debate, IMHO, is to use a social network site to get a group of sensible people together to discuss gaming. And, even then, you're still going to get one or two 'trolls', for lack of a better word. I have a few people on G+ that I share news with and who share news with me and we talk about games. It's the best way I know to discuss games, though it is very limited and isn't the best way to get your news (you gotta go to a site like N4G for that).

Its okay that English isn't your first language. Truth be told the only language people seem to speak online these days is hyperbole.

If someone was to ask where are the level headed people on XYZ forum? Why dont they speak up? Well maybe those level headed people are staying true to their name and not arguing over gibberish? Who knows.

If you are looking for a more relaxed community, cozy up with a retro one. No one is really arguing the nonsense of N64 vs PSX or Sega vs Nintendo. Its just a bunch of people having back in my day conversations and enjoying the games for what they are. Tends to keep the trolls way...

You see people on here all day long trolling, this is their form of entertainment not gaming. Some comment almost every 5 to 10 minutes and as you said create 2 to 3 accounts to keep it up, sadly it will never end. Like its been said just get together with a group of people with the same mentality as yourself, jus discuss games leave the fanboy dribble out.

Nintendo of America never planned on bringing Xenoblade to North America despite announcing it at E3

These days Xenoblade is one of Nintendo’s bigger franchises – at least when it comes to RPGs – but that wasn’t always the case. The first entry came out in English more than a year after its Japanese launch, and that was for European fans only.

Would've been yet another whack move on Nintendo. I'm glad they did. It's one of the few games I got the switch for.

Well nintendo if you didn't do that big l

Knightofelemia3h ago

I guess Nintendo forgets how boosting sales numbers work. Why lock a game to a certain region or certain regions? You want sales number then flood the market and release the game in every region.

Lionsguard1h ago

I just don't understand why companies enjoy locking software behind such specific things. Imagine if Minecraft was only available for Xbox 360 and only North America and never again on anything else..

Review - Heading Out (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "Heading Out combines genres and styles which might sound incompatible at first glance, but did so in a very interesting manner, resulting in a truly unique roguelike experience. I, for one, really liked the presentation as well, with its slick visuals and soundtrack. It’s not entirely perfect, as the driving could have been more polished, and the pop-in glitches really took me out of the experience at times. That being said, it’s a game unlike any other out there, which wlll definitely keep you engaged through a good few runs."
