See the future? Sure wish i could. Like Sony's usual antics, they've released a teaser http://www.youtube.com/watc... for an upcoming date. This one being the 20th of February, the date for the supposed reveal of the PS4. But wait, is it the PS4 though? Sony hasnt exactly confirmed anything, just the usual hype from people online and unconfirmed rumors. I for one am uncertain if it is even a PS4 reveal.
My first piece of evidence of is the way the playstation symbols are lined up. Triangle Circle Cross Square. Now, if you check the official US Playstation Blog's The Drop, you'll notice that on vita/psn releases, the same symbols are lined up exactly like the 'See the Future' teaser. So this could mean its related to either PSN or Vita or both. Maybe its bout playstation incorporating Gaikai into PSN and Vita.
Another way this event isnt PS4 related is that it could be a price drop reveal for the ps vita. According to this article http://www.digitalspy.co.uk... A price drop is indeed coming in 2013. Exactly when wasnt expressed but price dropping in the early start of the year may help increase in sales, especially in Japan. A price drop, new game announcements and a plethora of confirmed 2013 games could easily do so. This could be even an event solely for the vita. Heck, in February of last year, 22nd to be exact, the vita was officially released in the US and EU. The date for this new PS Meeting is 20th. Could it be a re-birth for the ps vita?
Now, whilst i may have small evidence it could be a reveal something other than the PS4, there are however tons of recent articles 'confirming' the next PS Meeting is about the PS4. Hell, even Edge has leaked the supposed specs for the PS4, although not confirming that the PSM was bout the PS4. Obviously, its hard not to think it is the PS4! Another thing to consider was the vita or NGP was revealed during the PS Meeting of 2011 so revealing the successor to the PS3 in 2013 would also make sense.
Honestly, despite this blog, I too am hoping it is bout the PS4. Its hard not to considering the numerous amounts of rumors of its features and controller. I only made this blog hoping to drown down the PS4 hype train abit so that people dont face utter huge disappointments when it isnt the PS4. Myself included.
Former Deviation Games developers have formed a new studio at Sony Interactive Entertainment in order to work on a brand new PlayStation IP.
Well that's an awesome and very surprising turnaround. Cheers to the new studio and what they'll build!
That's..... confusing, so shut down but just reformed and same employer 🤔 sounds like pretty much what happened to Japan Studio basically just being rebranded as Asobi
Good for them that they were able to work it out. Hopefully they're developing something interesting.
These days Xenoblade is one of Nintendo’s bigger franchises – at least when it comes to RPGs – but that wasn’t always the case. The first entry came out in English more than a year after its Japanese launch, and that was for European fans only.
Would've been yet another whack move on Nintendo. I'm glad they did. It's one of the few games I got the switch for.
I guess Nintendo forgets how boosting sales numbers work. Why lock a game to a certain region or certain regions? You want sales number then flood the market and release the game in every region.
I just don't understand why companies enjoy locking software behind such specific things. Imagine if Minecraft was only available for Xbox 360 and only North America and never again on anything else..
WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "Heading Out combines genres and styles which might sound incompatible at first glance, but did so in a very interesting manner, resulting in a truly unique roguelike experience. I, for one, really liked the presentation as well, with its slick visuals and soundtrack. It’s not entirely perfect, as the driving could have been more polished, and the pop-in glitches really took me out of the experience at times. That being said, it’s a game unlike any other out there, which wlll definitely keep you engaged through a good few runs."
I just cant see how this could be a vita price drop. I mean seriously how many companies have held a press event, complete with shareholders, and created a teaser trailer just for a price drop ? That makes zero sense.
Best case scenario - its a PS4 press event.
Worst case scenario - its a "Vision for the future of Playstation" type event which then teases or hints at the PS4.
