Don't you all love it when the market gets flooded with a certain type of game. What's the topic this time? Zombies! Yes with all the news surrounding the upcoming Dead Island I thought I would flush out my thoughts about this game. Now I do love zombies and I don't necessarily mind if the market is flooded with zombie games as long as they are GOOD. I really do like the L4D series and both the Dead Risings but bringing a new IP to the market will be interesting. And I cannot emphasize enough that this game will have to be GOOD. And no I do not just want a copy of Dead Rising which is what I am seeing this game turn into. Being trapped in a mall...I mean in Vegas...oh I mean on an island, yeah an island. This could have been the plot line for DR3! Now I am not trying to bring down Dead Island but I am just trying to warn Techland that I do not want a copy. I do not even want a mix between Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising. I want something new that will be fresh to play.
I have read a lot of articles that also have skepticism in Dead Island (and again I'm not making a final verdict until the sucker comes out) but I recently read an article praising Dead Island for having the following five aspects: open world, focus on melee combat, customizable weapons, an actual story, and some RPG mechanics. Seriously?! If I am not mistaken this is an exact definition of Dead Rising 2. I really am hoping that this turns out to be a good game but don't just try to hop onto the zombie train and cut yourself some profits. Innovate and make an original game...with zombies of course.
If the PS5 Pro leaks are accurate, the eventual PS6 is slated to be one powerful console. But if modern GPUs still lag behind true photorealism, can the PS6 get there?
I hate to be "that guy", but we have go ask ourselves do the industry need photorealistic graphics at this point or actually good games, good content, less anti-consumer practices?
This graphical obsession has brought nothing but years upon years of waiting for a game to launch with huge detailed empty worlds, bad stories and predictable gameplay and (micro)transactions everywhere. Sorry for the rant.
Personally for me, graphics have already gotten to the point where I don't really feel the need to see having it to make anymore realistic or better.
At this point, I rather game developers focus on quality/engaging stories, gameplay, & contents. Also not every every single game needs to opened world just for the sake of it.
Honestly with UC4 I thought we were close but things don't really seem to have improved much in 8 years. Hellblade 2 seems to have raised the bar a bit though
I don't think publishers have the money to make that happen. They can barely sustain the current level of fidelity.
Simply, no! Graphics wise there is barely any difference between the PS4 and PS5 just a little more particle effects and very minimal use of ray tracing. I expect even less diffence between PS5 and PS6. Just better implementation of Ray Tracing.
Pick up the pace in this vibrant shooter.
Rockstar Games is dedicated to GTA 6 and GTA Online now, but Red Dead Redemption 2's new sales report proves RDO needs more attention.
Personally I liked that RDO wasn't smash hit but it proved that players were really there for the single player portion of the game and should settle take two execs down off their micro transactions high horse a little ongoing
i'm with you dude, i'm as exited as i could be since i like some real zombie outbreak like DR instead of RE, but if Dead Island ends up as a damn poor copy of DR then i want it dead
Dead Rising is a third person Zombie game, Dead Island is a first person Melee combat Zombie game. Dead Island is more like L4D.
