so as you have (hopefully) gathered by the title my PS3 has actually
broken! I can honestly say i am a little disapointed but will explain
later, first the story of how it died (a little boring as i dont know
what the actual problem is)
so i have recently moved house and have been bored in the evenings so thought
i would try out some of my newly purchased titles taking advantage of
the only single player games due to having no internet. Titles such as
Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction and Heavenly Sword which are
in honestly really good games, i recomend buying / renting them.
so after a week of mainly PS3 gaming in the evenings, on Monday 13th
October 2008 I woke up after watching a movie and falling asleep before
it had finished i was truely in shock to see my PS3's LED was flashing
RED!
Although i didnt think much about it as you guys know Sony has had more
luck in the faults department then Microsoft not everyone knows about
the flashing red light. But anyway i didnt know that anything was wrong
until that night when i went to watch another film upscaled on my HDTV.
when i tried to turn on my PS3 this is the sequence i got
>green light (with 1 beep)
>flash of a yellow light
>constant flashing red light (with 3 beeps - beeps not constant)
so thats what has happened and now i am going to say why i am dissapointed.
I honestly thought out of all of my consoles my Xbox 360 would have
died first... i know that all electronics fail after time and i will
eventually see my PS3 as one of those in that little percentage that
failed. But my Xbox 360 i bought in September 2006 so its now just over
2 years old and still going strong. (touch wood)
Luckily for me though my PS3 is still in warrenty as it was bought
december 2007 so i can take it back for a replacement but i felt
compelled to write something as i know after gaming for about 14 odd
years know what it feels like to have a console die on me :( its not
nice. all i have to do now is find a way of getting a movie disk out of
the BluRay drive, so if any of you know as it wont eject let me know in
a comment or pm.

Game Rant previews AFK Journey's first seasonal update, which includes content of every kind, new heroes, and a whole new region to explore.
"SEGA are today very proud and happy to reveal "Sonic Rumble", the newest addition to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, releasing this winter. The upcoming Sonic mobile game invites players to enter a twisted toy world created by the notorious Dr. Eggman." - SEGA.
"The Warsaw-based (Poland) indie games publisher and deveöpåer RedDeer today announced with great joy and excitement that their frantic hotel management sim "Hotel Hustle", is now available for the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo Eshop." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
I have not experienced this...but I've read about others having it on the official forums...I believe its corrupted firmware that causes it, not a hardware issue...
some have claimed to fix their system with a hard reset (turning on the system, but holding on the power button for about 10 seconds...it will beep again, then go through a minute long reset process, which will return every setting to default)...but others claim they can't 'do a hard reset anymore'...and had to have it serviced...
just out of curiosity...was this right after you installed 2.5?...almost everyone I have seen have had this problem just hours after a firmware update (like the first time they reset the system, or it goes idle, etc.)...I don't remember what day exactly 2.5 released though...anyway, good luck with it...if you don't want to lose all your saves and stuff though, having it reflashed by Sony would be a better option than just trading in for a new one...
