Its amazing how these discussions all go back and forth. To many times the comments constantly change or it seems to favor one company over another. Even worse how the same commentators constantly give an opinion or create an entire different story.
When the Xbox 360 came out it was the platform for Top AAA titles and indies. When the PS3 came out it had a few AAA titles and less indie games. As the generation moved forward Xbox 360 loss its foothold on having a lot of top Triple AAA games but still had an incredible amount of indie games. Gamers kept saying that "Xbox had no games". PS3 ramped up the Triple AAA games and even indie games. Now fast forward to the new generation upon us. The table is turned and the Xbox One clearly has enough Triple AAA games for the first full year of its lifecycle and not that many indies (yet) and PS4 has announced a few Triple AAA games for the first year (Not all yet) with mostly indies that can be found on other systems as PC and even current gen like Xbox 360/PS3. I heard all types of comments from gamers including but not limited to "I don't buy systems for indies or that I can find these games on PC". Having a huge library of indie games on any system is great but I have also heard comments like "indie games are not real games". Gamers believe that past a certain point MS won't have games for them or how right now sony is not presenting enough Triple AAA games to them. I think as gamers we need to stop assuming and enjoy gaming on each platform. The list below shows how much experiences/enjoyment is upon us from both companies

There is no doubt in mind that this generation will be very long and as of right now both companies have a lot of secret weapons. Clearly there are two different strategies playing. Looking at the lineup on both systems it is going to be an incredible year for gamers.
If you look at what Sony is doing with the PS4 it is actually providing top tier games with a vast amount of indie games to ensure that all gamers are taken care of. Think about it, providing games at $5 dollars to $15 dollars is fantastic. Not to mention free games as well. Hardcore gamers will get there fill with great triple AAA titles like Killzone Shadow fall and Multiplatform games but offering more is an excellent strategy. After all, there is many gamers out there that don't even care for the launch titles and would prefer many of those indie games. Sony has always had a long history of starting out slow but providing an endless amount of games through out the entire generation.
MS has an entirely different strategy but not that different in terms of content. If you look at it they will have a few more exclusives and less indie games at launch. The difference seems to be that MS wants to provide many of those top triple AAA titles early to ensure that gamers get as many options and clearly they are aimed at a more hardcore audience initially. MS has always started out strong but fades at the end of the console cycle. Recently MS has stated that they have invested over a billion dollars for new IP's and games. The biggest thing I hear from commentors is how "MS lost it foot hold on exclusive games". Will this generation repeat itself? I rather not assume anything and wait to see how it plays out.
As time goes on all these discussions will be meaningless and we will be talking about incredible experiences that these games have provided. Games count no matter if big or small and to say that one system has no games while putting another on a pedestal is wrong. As you can see the new generation is playing out in the same context but in different situations. Finding an excellent experience this generation won't come from big AAA titles only but from all gaming avenues. Enough with assuming, lets let this generation unfold like a gift that keeps on giving. The pendulum can swing in any direction. In which direction do you think this generation will play out?
Gaming has given birth to some of the best DLCs ever made that enhance the base game significantly. Here are a few top recommendations.
Should you return to the game? A returning player united the Helldivers 2 community. AH CEO supports the fans' mission for a better patch.
Saw this coming since the first nerf to the meta. Anyone that had any sense and wasn't a fan boy knew this was gona happen. Knee jerk reaction nerfs to the meta made the game boring.
Fortnite fans are begging for the return of OG mode while using the player count as proof that fans are not happy with the game's direction.
I think it will play out much the same as this generation.
Both companies will start slow-ish but MS will do a better job of advertising to the masses. The big guns (halo, uncharted) will start arriving late next year and Sony will start to edge ahead with its number of exclusives year on year where MS will cut back in the later years as its track record shows.
MS will continue with buying times exclusives from the bigger 3rd parties, and DLC on all platforms will reach dizzying new heights of shittyness.
Sales wise i think ps4 will do slightly less than ps3 numbers and xb1 will do about 25% less. I think this because its currently percieved in the general media as having issues which will hurt its launch figures, followed by it being more expensive, followed by the stigma of RROD, followed by the inclusion of kinect.
Here's a list of confirmed games that are unique between the ps4 and xbox one, alphabetical order. Probably a few errors, feel free to point them out!
49 ps4 and 22 xbox one. Unlike the above list I've not included "studio X new IP" - yes, we know they are going to happen, but if not confirmed officially they're not here.

Well Sony has momentum right out of the gate and I only see it getting better. Especially when publishers cater to the much large PS4 install base and take advantage of it's extra power.
When all your friends are getting a Ps4 and the multiplats perform noticeable better (not to mention Sony's calibre of 1st party studios) it's not hard to assume the Ps4 is going to continue to outsell the X1 by a significantly margin, and rightly so.
After MS tried to complete ruining my beloved hobby and only changed after they realised they couldn't get away with it (not because they suddenly realised what a horrible, greedy thing they were doing) they deserve to be vastly outsold by Sony.
Add yet another to the list! http://n4g.com/news/1345933...
1001 Spikes was missed as well.
It's kinda hard to keep up with Sony announcing 2 or more new titles a day.
Infamous:SS was the deciding factor for me.
