"We look at motion control as being that much more than what exists on the market."
"Project Natal and Wii are going to have trouble"
Uhm... Because you made an exact clone of the Wiimote (plus) Sony? Yeah sounds and looks really different on what exists on the market. I'll give you a couple of reasons why the 360/Natal and Wii are going to put the PS3 and its nightmare dildo from hell in 3rd position again:
1. People that want a Wiimote, buy a Wii. They don't buy a Wiimote (plus) clone with a strange bulb with light on top that looks like a nightmare dildo from hell. That makes it a non-alternative for the casual audience, we can cut them out of the possible group of buyers, which leaves the smaller group (hardcore) gamers to sell it to;
2. Too bad (hardcore) gamers want a normal controller and no motion controllers... So. There you go, last target group to sell to is gone. No group is left that wants the Wiimote clone;
3. A next thing for the casuals to step into gaming after still having some sort of controller (aka Wiimote) with limited motion controls is having no controller at all, or using the body as a controller. Which is Natal;
4. For Natal EVERY 360 game that is already released can be patched to work with it. Which makes an instant library that can run up to hundreds of games that could be available at launch. No other system had so many games available at the launch of a new controller (like the much simpeler Eyetoy had just a few games);
5. Comparing the EyeTOY to Natal is like comparing a bike to a Ferrari. With the bike you are able to travel, but its by far not having as much possibilities as the Ferrari. EyeTOY is what it says a toy, it doesn't have so much advanced tech. Natal has its own processing unit for all the data, so the 360 doesn't get hit by Natal workload. Natal has 3D cams that can track 48 points in your body and do that for 4 people at the same time. It even calculates how your body is expect to react even if someone is walking in front of the cam while you are playing. And its voicecontroller. Microsoft bought a former militairy company that made new tech cams that is never ever used in a consumer product. The comparing of that eyeTOY to something advanced as Natal is just ignorant and stupid. Yes, I'm looking at you army of droids;
6. Microsoft will position Natal on an affordable pricelevel for excisting users (49 bucks) so many people will step in. It'll be bundled with every 360 sold. They want to get in as many people as possible and their goal is to take marketshare of the mighty Wii. Its most major advantage... Bundled with a new 360 you can play with up to 4 people without the need to buy additional controllers! No other console does this.
7. The Wand nightmare dildo from hell needs 4 x a Wand PLUS a PSeye to work. PSeye on itself already costs 50 bucks. Then 4 x a Wand, which seen the traditional price of controllers around 50, will be no cheaper than 30 bucks. At the cheapest a set to play with 4 people will cost 170 bucks on top of the price of a PS3. AT THE CHEAPEST. If it'll not even exceed 200 bucks even a more insane price level;
8. It already shows that Natal gets more attention of the press, but also from gamedevs. For example Ubisoft has double the games in production for Natal as for the Wand nightmare dildo from hell.
In short: Sony, forget it. If it vibrates, you can always sell the Wand to girls that can't find a hole in the dark. Or sell it in a renamed package called the G@ystation 3 in pink with some Wands, like you made a pink PS2 before, it'll probably sell loads to the droid army. Butthurt droid army confirmed!
