1.1 - This actually surprised me.
But it goes to show that PS3 owners are more varied in their gaming and won't just flock to the same genre all the time."

Uhm no.

Modern Warfare 2 sold 1.8 mln. on the PS3 and 4.2 mln. on the 360 by the numbers of last week. Which makes AC2 sales of lets say 2 mln. pick the nr.1 spot on the PS3, while it might have sold 2 mln. on the 360 or even 3 mln. and still MW2 would be in the nr1 spot.

Its just the weak sales on the PS3 that makes it look that PS3 owners would be more varied in their gaming. View

"Mart Sony's been working on the this motion controller since 2001 haven't you seen the video of the R&D guys talking about it?"

Well it doesn't matter in the opinion and eyes of the consumers mate. They know the Wiimote as the original that launched first doing that and looking like a stick to wave, they will see the Wand as a clone. So... Even if they started research in 1995 it wouldn't make a difference. Its now a me-too product.

"The WiiMote was a rushed product "

Agreed, but the public eats that sh!t and even pays for fixing it in the form of the Wiimote Plus, so again, doesn't matter.

@ THC

"im sorry but natal is the ps3 eye with a slight upgrade"

You're sorry? Yeah you should for your freakin' droid blindness! How is

- Tracking 48 points in a human body in 3D thats accurate;
- Doing that 48 points tracking for FOUR persons at the same time;
- An own processing unit (thus a small comp actually with its own CPU etc) on board of the cam;
- special tracking cam bought from an Israelian militairy company (they actually bought the company so no others can use this tech);
- several cams + total voice recognition

A slight upgrade? A slight upgrade is the DS3 compared to the DS2, with about only a few motion controls added. This is a major totally different cam than the EyeTOY. If you're too blind to see that, you need glasses and a new brain to be able to understand all the new tech and specs. View

"We look at motion control as being that much more than what exists on the market."

"Project Natal and Wii are going to have trouble"

Uhm... Because you made an exact clone of the Wiimote (plus) Sony? Yeah sounds and looks really different on what exists on the market. I'll give you a couple of reasons why the 360/Natal and Wii are going to put the PS3 and its nightmare dildo from hell in 3rd position again:

1. People that want a Wiimote, buy a Wii. They don't buy a Wiimote (plus) clone with a strange bulb with light on top that looks like a nightmare dildo from hell. That makes it a non-alternative for the casual audience, we can cut them out of the possible group of buyers, which leaves the smaller group (hardcore) gamers to sell it to;

2. Too bad (hardcore) gamers want a normal controller and no motion controllers... So. There you go, last target group to sell to is gone. No group is left that wants the Wiimote clone;

3. A next thing for the casuals to step into gaming after still having some sort of controller (aka Wiimote) with limited motion controls is having no controller at all, or using the body as a controller. Which is Natal;

4. For Natal EVERY 360 game that is already released can be patched to work with it. Which makes an instant library that can run up to hundreds of games that could be available at launch. No other system had so many games available at the launch of a new controller (like the much simpeler Eyetoy had just a few games);

5. Comparing the EyeTOY to Natal is like comparing a bike to a Ferrari. With the bike you are able to travel, but its by far not having as much possibilities as the Ferrari. EyeTOY is what it says a toy, it doesn't have so much advanced tech. Natal has its own processing unit for all the data, so the 360 doesn't get hit by Natal workload. Natal has 3D cams that can track 48 points in your body and do that for 4 people at the same time. It even calculates how your body is expect to react even if someone is walking in front of the cam while you are playing. And its voicecontroller. Microsoft bought a former militairy company that made new tech cams that is never ever used in a consumer product. The comparing of that eyeTOY to something advanced as Natal is just ignorant and stupid. Yes, I'm looking at you army of droids;

6. Microsoft will position Natal on an affordable pricelevel for excisting users (49 bucks) so many people will step in. It'll be bundled with every 360 sold. They want to get in as many people as possible and their goal is to take marketshare of the mighty Wii. Its most major advantage... Bundled with a new 360 you can play with up to 4 people without the need to buy additional controllers! No other console does this.

7. The Wand nightmare dildo from hell needs 4 x a Wand PLUS a PSeye to work. PSeye on itself already costs 50 bucks. Then 4 x a Wand, which seen the traditional price of controllers around 50, will be no cheaper than 30 bucks. At the cheapest a set to play with 4 people will cost 170 bucks on top of the price of a PS3. AT THE CHEAPEST. If it'll not even exceed 200 bucks even a more insane price level;

8. It already shows that Natal gets more attention of the press, but also from gamedevs. For example Ubisoft has double the games in production for Natal as for the Wand nightmare dildo from hell.

In short: Sony, forget it. If it vibrates, you can always sell the Wand to girls that can't find a hole in the dark. Or sell it in a renamed package called the G@ystation 3 in pink with some Wands, like you made a pink PS2 before, it'll probably sell loads to the droid army. Butthurt droid army confirmed! View

According to the research Sony's costprice is 370 dollars... And they sell them for 299? o_O more loss for Sony...

PS3 expensive model at start end 2006: 600 dollar, now 300 dollar = in 3 years 50% cheaper
360 expensive model at start end 2005: 400 dollar, now 300 dollar = in 4 years just 25% cheaper

Sony looses money on each PS3 sold, Microsoft at least plays even if not wins on every 360 sold. Plus seen Microsoft dropped its price less aggressive over a longer period than Sony did... It makes MS to be in a powerfull position, if they dictate the price further on a lower pricelevel Sony can't really follow, but they have to if they want to stay in the race... Interesting. View

Is funny. For the PS3 girls above:

Modern Warfare 2 was pirated early on the 360. Still it outsold the PS3 version by almost 3:1

Droids am cry. They only buy BluRay movies. Plus they get a sad Sega port of Bayonetta, so they have to cry about something ofcourse! Cry me moar droids, cry me moarrrrrr View

So now its summer 2010 right? And ANOTHER demo soon, jees.

Wouldn't surprise me if spring 2010 they would say it'll be a Christmas 2010 launch and Fall 2010 they'll announce it'll be a PS4 launch title... View

Damnit, I just about forgot how crap HipHopGangsters 'shows' are, but these minutes I just waisted my life on reminded me again.

Just don't look at it, its not worth it. HipHopGangster laughing constantly because another tard stands there pulling weird faces and plays he can't find words to describe sh!t. Honestly, ban this nonsense from N4G... Its not news, its not even entertainment. Its a bad joke. It should be posted on that Badjoystick sistersite of N4G.

Why is this last great PS3 exclusive that released in October totally UNcharted in the top 20 NPD of November? PS3 users buying BluRay movies? View

So where the hell is Uncharted 2, PS3's highest rated exclusive? View

Thing is... This game isn't as good as COD4 on the PS3/360 and in general 99,9% of all Wiigames are shovelware.

So... Indeed its not about sales when you play games. Still its pathetic if there are over 60 mln. users that a game isn't bought. The hardcore genre just doesn't sell on the Wii so why still try? View

muuaahahahahahaahhahaahahha

Like said before: the Wii is only good for Mario's, Zelda's and softmodded running emu's for old systems (Homebrew Channel/Browser rocks, UAE4all and other emu's run great.

But for real hardcore gaming? Forget it. Its not found on the supercharged Gamecube!

80k copies sold in 3 to 4 weeks with an installed base of over 60 mln. PATHETIC View

Well Juuken, if the POS3 would have been selling 100k more than the 360 you would have been all over it in your male kind of way. The irony.

Plus: a new PS3 Slim model with a hefty pricecut, plus Uncharted 2 (the highest rated PS3 exclusive that just released) should have propelled the sales of the PS3 with ease past the 360, shouldn't it?

EDIT

@ Juukie below

Well as you took the time to reply... And what if the MW2 bundle sales aren't even counted in these numbers?

Besides that, a win is a win. December will also belong to the 360, while the PS3 at last should have one a holiday season. Just pathetic. View
11 days 19 hours ago
And remember that those 1 mln. 360 owners were said to jump over and buy a PS3 because they were so pissed about it. I guess if MS didn't ban them recently, the PS3 sales would a couple of hundreds of thousands lower in sales.

Second: where the fack is Uncharted 2, the highest rated PS3 exclusive ever, just launched mid October in that sales list? I mean come on, a game that good, marketed that well should have been on 600k sales with ease in November. What are all those millions of PS3 owners buying for the holidays? Besides that 1.9 mln WM2 sales they bought BluRay movies I guess??? View

Devs want to actually move forward and the only way that's gonna happen is through PS3. In my opinion, games should be optimized for the PS3 and then ported down to the 360 (kinda like games are ported down to the Wii). That way PS3 owners can enjoy the quality they want and 360 owners can get to play the game (though inferior). Look at MW2 and look at KZ2. The difference is IMMENSE."

Jesus Saaking I thought your droid days had ended? You're really comparing a 2007 multiplatform engine with a 2009 released exclusive one? REALLY? Tard.

Hardware specialists already said that the 360 and PS3 can do about equal in output and power. So you can stop your bullsh!t nonsense and comparing with the Wii.

Fact is, that PS3 gamers get shafted with multiplatform games, 99,9% of them runs best on the 360. The exclusives that the PS3 get, are made by mostly inhouse companies that get full support to work around the bottlenecks of the PS3. That makes 60 mln. dollar engines/games like KZ2. Now if Microsoft made such a specific engine for the 360 to push it to the max, then it would get interesting.

For the moment, you're talking out of your arse again. Not much different as before... View

Yet again, the investment in MW2 was a better one as it also earned more. That budget you give there, isn't that included marketingbudget? As I can't see how based on the COD4 engine a game would cost that much. Furthermore thats ONE game you can mention. Look at all the other games on the PS3. They cost a lot, a lot to produce and get the workarounds for trouble with its hardware. Its confirmed.

But the thing still stands:

If the Cell was so successful, it would have been continued. As that development route has been ended, its not the best way to use CPU's. Thus its a failure.

Too bad Pennytard, nice try though. View
32 days 8 hours ago
Uhm I see all the PS3 droids cry so much but one thing is for sure.

If the Cell was that great, it would have been continued. As it isn't, it is not the most optimal way to use processors obviously. There are easier ways to get the same results. It was a nice try, but it failed.

Its not cut over nothing, remember that. And yes, with a lot of effort stuff like Uncharted 2 can be done. But if thats with 5 x the cost compared to other CPU's, suddenly it becomes a problem. Like KZ2 costing 60 mln. to get all that SPU's to work also. View

It wouldn't surprise me if it. PS3 owners wouldn't be affected but it'd just be unfair. Imagine paying XBL TO PLAY ONLINE and then having to pay to play online...AGAIN. So basically you'd get charged to access the FULL game (SP and MP) twice?! WTF! "

Why wouldn't PS3 owners be affected if they had to pay for playing Call of Duty also?

I don't get your unlogical thinking at all. They didn't have to pay before and in the new situation they should. Sounds like being affected to me mate. View

Strange, I am pretty sure that the 360 is having an attach rate of over 9 games average per console sold, even those 360's that are modded.

The PS3 has what, 6 games average per console sold, while not even being pirated?

The PS2 was a very heavily pirated console, but still had the most support of devs.

Heck about the best game of last gen, God of War II, only sold 3 mln. copies on the installed base of about 100 mln. PS2's sold when it released and 140 mln. PS2's sold now.

Now THAT's pathetic.

Suck it, tard. Its the Betastation 3 they should abandon, as Playstation owners don't buy games, but movies. DVD player PS2 use and BluRays on the PS3. Don't forget about the Playstation Portable 100% pirated handheld also hahahaha View
