There isn't resentment to games for WIndows because of the so-called 'high-standards' (I mean if Microsoft's backwards compatibility was of the a higher standard then we might actually be able to play some XP games on it), it's because that you have to pay for features that have been free for ages. Yes, playing online is free with a Silver account, but you have to pay $4 a month to get a quick-match button in Shadowrun and Halo2?? That's just pathetic. Online gaming has been fine before this centralised money-pit called Games for Windows Live was introduced. I don't want to play against 360 players - half of the users on Live are either kids or idiots who just swear down their mics (I know from 360 experience) and I don't want that ruining PC gaming. Make it free and at least as good as Xfire or Steam and maybe it'll make it; but the truth is, no PC gamer wants the hassle of having of having to pay to play.
Oh, and I haven't even tried PSN so don't go calling me a Sony fanboy, I own a 360 and a PC and there are stark differences between both communities, and bringing them together is only going to create problems.
