Agreed. But the second I'm interrupted online and hear "this is only a test - had this been a real emergency, the tone would have been followed by..."

Seriously though - it's a good thing. I still remember the first time my tivo pulled me out of a recording because of some flash flood warning. At first I was upset, been in all reality, it makes sense, and I'm glad that people are willing to go to greater and greater lengths to protect and defend others who find more and more ways to distance ourselves from the here and now. Firefly is the tv show - Serenity is the movie. Nitpicking, yes, but there are exactly three IPs that you'd better get right around me: Firefly, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and MacGyver.

Anyways, yeah, the similarities are indeed there, and if Fillon plays Drake in the movie, I'll have a grin on my face all the way to the theater at least 3 times, because I guarantee that's how many times the various people I've turned on to Firefly will be wanting me to go with.

power consumption alone might be worth it in the long run, along with longevity of the system. But I still like my backwards compat., 4 usb, and memory slots. so, either way has its perks. View

Agreed - my Launch Day unit's still going as strong as ever without any issues. The 500gig drive I've got inside is starting to look smaller by comparison, though... :( Bring on the terabyte! View

The Last Guardian and Heavy Rain are still the two titles I'm most excited about this entire generation, let alone next year. Team Ico and Quantic Dream are my two favorite devs out there, despite having only played 3 games across the two of them. View

I'm not disagreeing that they're running to the bank lauging giddily, but don't think that they get anywhere close to the full $60. I forget how much the breakdown is as to where each buck out of those 60 goes, but you have a lot of people that get paid and/or make a profit off of that game sale. View

Glad to see someone so eloquently explain what it is that people, or at least I, expect from games. Not the pixels, or frames, or physics, but the impression it leaves - I've a feeling this will be up there with SOTC and Indigo Prophecy as the few games that made me say "wow." OMG!ROXXORZ happens almost every month, but a humbling, explanation defying 'wow' comes along so rarely.

Sadly, I'll have to delay playing the game for a day or two, because the sixth book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy comes out on the 12th, and I personally consider that tome the closest thing I have to a Bible. View

Not really different than worrying about the number of users that have a PSeye - it's a niche, but motion's by no means going to become a standard in games, I'd imagine. Or if so, it'd be something that enhances rather than alters how the game's played - like Burnout allowing you to take pics for license and online and stuff. I think there'll be a lot of specifically designed games, downloadable games, and the rest to accentuate regular releases. View

Much agreed. My three favorite games last gen were SOTC, Indigo Prophecy, and God of War. You can imagine how stellar next year's gonna be... View

Back when FF: spirits within first came out and movies like S1mone, people were saying that that might be a viable solution somewhere down the line. Square even had virtual photoshoots with their CGI models. And there are competitions for CGI models, such as http://www.3dm3.com/competi... View

I kind of agree with both sides of this premium thing - using the grey space for custom graphics of what you're playing or what you want to paste there would indeed be a pretty cool feature. But it'd also be really nice to be able to browse and download custom user-made themes. Only downside to that is that they would be visible to everyone else - not something privately hidden on one's own system. This would require both heavy quality and content monitoring, to make sure the obvious inappropriate stuff doesn't get broadcast across PSN.

But if anyone ever comes across any Bianca Beuchamp theme, don't hesitate to let a know! View

Agreed - this game was going to be readily dismissed by me, but Daft Punk is so full of awesomeness, it's now hard to ignore. And I'm so not wanting to get ANOTHER periph (eye cam, rock band set, GH guitars, Buzz controllers). This could be another game like Shatter where the soundtrack ends up getting me to purchase the game... View

You know, if you go and checkout without sufficient funds, it will give you the option to just add the amount that you need - even if you're starting from scratch. I keep my balance at zero - if a new item costs 7.99, I add it, buy it, and my credit card's charged 7.99. Easy peasy. View

I know they still stand the test of time pretty well, but what if they do something similar with Ico and SOTC, to precede The Last Guardian? I'm not sure how much it really costs them to hire a studio to re-tool already existing art assests and stuff, but it may pay off in the long run if

A: existing fans re-purchase the game, and
B: more owners buy TLG due to finally playing the first two. View

Probably one of, like, three hoping for this, but I'd love Lucas Arts to release some new Monkey Island. Escape From Monkey Island was one of the most "new" and "eye opening" experiences for me when I first played it, and I miss both it and the genre. That it's downloadable only on the 360 makes me weep a little bit inside. Just a teensy bit. Sadly with the expense of this gen, it's hard to imagine them paying out for such a niche title, but I'm hoping the progression and popularity of DLC will allow wuch a game to see the light of day. We (us three) want more Threepwood! View

Love the game - actually bought it after becoming engrossed with the soundtrack. The music's awesome, the visuals stellar, and the change up of the mechanics keep things from getting stale. And figuring out just what you need to do to get past that boss typically isn't too difficult. I have huge issues with the circular stages though, for some reason. No fault of the game or anything - just my own poor playing.

When you finally start getting a feel for pushing/pulling and getting the desired action on the ball, the game starts hitting a new level. You can clear entire stages without the ball ever touching the paddle. View

Welcome to the 500gig club!
As Beavis stated, it indeed works that the last item added to the folder is the item displayed as the icon for that folder, when it comes to games. Ii ipersonally seperate mine into eye cam, puzzle, shooter, demos, and other, and there's no real way to change that picture other than moving everything into a different folder, and then moving them BACK, adding the game you want displayed last. If the cop dies, you just don't gain any further information from his perspective toward the case of finding the killer. In Indigo Prophecy, after you completed a certain chapter with a character, you were given the option of whose perspective to play from next, until you'd gone through everyone's point of view for a certain period of time. Heavy Rain may provide this same "who next" freedom, or they may just snap you to the perspective of whomever they deem next. View
