while i agree with your opinion i can't help but think of the other side... dark it may be...
sony i'm sure could put some clause in the contract that says "hey, if your game fails tough, we gave you a chance, we ain't going to pay out for your dev costs" maybe not that harsh, but something similar, its the developer thats taking the chance after all.
seeing as most people research the product they buy, i know i'm not going to put down cash for something i know nothing of. granted some people will go by the sony psn description saying "hey this game is great blah blah blah" but not all people are like that, atleast i hope not....
if your game is good, the people will buy, some sony executive, while experienced probably will not know what the next big thing is, its like winning the f*cking lottery, but by denying all these indy devs they are most certainly stunting that, maybe not for the world, but for the ps3.
i'm happy with the quality of games that are being released on the psn, but i'm sure i'd be a lot happier if there was a lot more releases on the psn instead of getting 1 or 2 demo's, 1 or 2 games, 1 or 2 add on's every week
