Yep I agree it definitely is a mixed message in courting veterens for authenticity yet at the same time being so gung ho in the approach to war. Just shows though that a lot of gamers don't care too much just look at the reports this article has got because COD fanboys see it as bashing their crown Jewels of games, which I hasten to add IT ISNT doing at all! The thing is if you show non gamer a picture of Mario the majority will know who he is, there's no question there are other famous game characters Link, Donkey Kong, Kratos but I don't think that they have the widespread appeal as Mario. Mario has seeped into non gaming culture too, every generation within modern memory has known about Mario and that's the difference that separates him above the other characters in the gaming world. Perhaps, but the likes of Amazon are also offering discounts on the system so I think it's more than possible that Tesco will offer it for this price. View

I think the best solution is indeed to split the achievements like already mentioned, but it's a band aid style fix, as it may not satisfy either camp of gamers. View

I agree they do like the article says Microsoft revolutionized the way we approach playing games, but if the system stays as it is, I know I wouldn't want to compete on a new console if my score was 0 and someone else was able to transfer their score of 200,000 plus score. It's a potential problem that Microsoft needs to have an idea on. View

that's a pretty cool way around it for sure, but Id expect ps3 fanboys to see it as 'copying their' system. View

Yes I imagine it will in time for exactly the same reasons, but the rumors about the new 360 are much more prevalent at the moment, when Sony comes to making the PS4 I'm sure they'll face the same crossroads. View

an expensive test
Yep Sony do have form for testing new ideas/ formats on the public, but at £200 + price tag that's one expensive experiment. View

Exactly, but like I said in my article why not add a scoring system for Fanboy baiting, we could have leagues and everything lol View

What to do with the broken PS3 in question?
Well if you've read my articles, reviews over on my site you will see Im no fanboy of microsoft and that the majority of my reviews are for the ps3, that's why i was so miffed when it bust. But revenge is oh so sweet.

I have the dead beast of a machine in my posession and im more than willing to dispose of it in any imaginative way (as long as its legal mind) and video the results.

just post you ideas on my forum thread http://gameztraffic.freefor...

but yes it did yellow light, no it wasnt dusty, and this is a growing concern for many ps3 owners, especially when sonys only sollution is to give them £145 View

the worst thing is i wouldnt have recieved my own machine back i would have instead got a reconditioned unit, removing any of my game saves. talk about paying £145 to be kicked in the nuts View

In my article i refer to kotaku as the problem was reported way back with firmware 2.40 (not by myself i might add) i used it to reference that the problem had been around for a while, yet in comparison to xbox its relatively unkown.

now we're on verision 2.76 of firmware I think and the report looks at what happened. Not duplicating any other stories at all, I'm glad to say. View

2nd curse definitely
Hi first up thanks for reading the article, its the arrogance and pomp that the second console created that is the curse. sure it impacted on the 3rd, but the actual curse was born with the 2nd machines success View
