Yakuza 3 - No American release date, no rumored release date
Free Realms - No PS3 release date, no rumored release date
announced Ratchet and Clank sequeal - Currently unannounced
war devil - No release date, no rumored release date

None of those games qualify for an article of "2009 releases." View

The first article quoted November NPD (America-only) data and the second used Sony's worldwide sales figures. Both are correct and I guess that would make you the idiot. View

That's ridiculous. The announcement for the second part of the series (pro-PS3/anti-Xbox360) was included at the top of anti-PS3/pro-Xbox 360 articles of the first part. View

You know that Attach Rate is only important for the console manufacturers to brag about right?

Developers and publishers care about how many total copies are sold, and in that statistic, Nintendo blows the PS3 away. View

"I'm not calling the Wii a bad console I'm just saying as a whole their game library lacks in appeal."

And I'm saying that sales numbers do not bore out that opinion. You're right, numbers can be manipulated, and that has happened often in this console war. But that is not what's happening here.

Look at the VGChartz listings for US sales between the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360.

For the Wii...
Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is at number 50 with 196K
Four more pages of Wii games follow.

For the PS3...
Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is at number 50 with 174K
Two more pages of PS3 games follow.

For the Xbox 360...
The Simpsons Game is at number 50 with 454K
Four more pages of Xbox 360 games follow.

I don't say this to bash the PS3, but worldwide and American sales clearly label it as "weak" saleswise, not the Wii. View

OK fine.

In 29 months, 36 titles have sold more than a million copies worldwide on the Xbox 360. (monthly average = 1.2)

In 17 months, 25 titles have sold more than a million copies worldwide on the Wii. (monthly average = 1.5)

In 17 months, 12 titles have sold more than a million copies worldwide on the PS3. (monthly average = 0.7)

While none of the consoles are doing bad, the numbers clearly show the *PS3* software sales underperforming, not the Wii. View

This is ridiculous
Super Smash Bros Brawl sold 2.7 million copies in March. No PS3 game has ever sold that many in America and only three Xbox 360 games have (Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War).

To say that Wii sales are "weak" after a game becomes the fourth best-selling game of this generation is moronic. View

>>>>> "As soon as the PS3 passed the X360 in sales, it will become the lead format with developers. At that moment many multi-format games coming to X360 will be dumbed down ports." <<<<<

The problem is that such a day may never come. This is not an inevitable prediction and the sales numbers make it look very likely (some would say inevitably so) that the PS3 will NEVER pass the Xbox 360. View

Tales of Vesperia has only been announced for the Xbox 360. The Interview in Play said a PS3 port was "possible... someday" not "confirmed". View
667 days 11 hours ago
Wow, so many fanboys in this thread.

Nowhere in that interview does it say anything about a timed exclusive or a Microsoft moneyhat. It says Tales of Vesperia was developed for the 360 first because it was ready first (which is true) and that a PS3 port is a possiblility, not a certainty. View

All claims from the industry about the number of pirated games is bullshit. Always has been always will be.

There are 20 million DS sysmtems in the wild in the US. If 90% of people pirate games that means 18 million people are pirates. That is bullshit. View

RE: Stupid article, bad numbers, and fanboy author
How can 3.25 million be a bad number? Are you saying the NPD is just lying about how many PS3 systems have been sold in the US?

RE: Real Gambler
I'm confused by what you mean by "last year's version." Are you referring to sports games only? Because a huge number of good non-sports titles can be purchased for the Xbox 360 for under $40. And when building a collection from scratch for public use, starting with "the classics" is the best way to go.

Here, look at the Platinum Hits line for the Xbox 360. 20 games, all under $30. You could build a nice base of a collection for under $600.

RE: Serious question all, please answer?
Think of it this way. Say I gave you $700 and told you to buy 20 different Xbox 360 games. Could you? Of course you could.

Now say I did the same thing with PS3 games. Can you do it? Nope. View

I really hate analysts.

None of them seem to understand that Nintendo is working at capacity to make Wiis. You can't just "make more" and Nintendo is not losing any money. Because as we all know, the Wii and the DS print money. View
