I think you guys are misinterpreting it. Analysts and publishers like THQ thought that PS2 owners would still be loyal to the PlayStation brand and now that the PS3 is a lower price, they expected them to convert in droves to PS3 owners, which isn't happening

Even if the Wii stopped selling, and the PS3 kept selling 1 mil units world wide like it did in sept., it would still take 2 years for the ps3 to catch up at that rate. View

They've shipped over 32 million PS exclusives over the last 10 years, so they would definitely be a loss to Sony. I would go as far as to say Insomniac and Naughty Dog are the pillars on which Sony stands - none of their internal teams can even match the output these guys do. View

Many said the same thing about LBP and attracting the Mario/platformer audience. Really, I think it's an unfair comparison. LBP and MNR both attract more of that user generated content audience like Spore, rather than a specific platformer/kart audience than people like to acknowledge.

So, it should definitely attract the LBP crew but not necessarily the racing fans. View
