To be fair though they do them every year. But this year it was a couple of days early starting. If your ever wanting to get something on Steam and its near the Xmas period hold off, bargains will arrive with patience :D

Past few days of these sales have been pretty rubbish sadly. I'm hoping they have a discount on TF2 for a couple of quid, got a mate we need persuading into buying it. View

Hence large sales mate. Discount a blockbuster movie tie-in during Christmas time and boom you've got big sales. Same reason they discount Fifa, only they're competing for sales over the Xmas period. Although to us gamers we know the game sucks, thats sadly not the case for mass market, and thus they'll drop the price to try get customers to buy it from their store! View

It's tough, previously I'd have said it was down to Sony's pure arrogance when it comes to marketing. But this holiday season in the UK they really have been pushing it with adverts on TV and whatnot, but sadly it just doesn't seem to pick up steam. I mean Uncharted 2 dropped out the top 20 NPD Sale Reports in it's second month - that seriously isn't good news for Sony, I mean..Borderlands on a single platform was topping it!? (generally not the most mass market title, let alone a brand new IP)

I imagine the only real thing to put it down to is simply competition from titles like Modern Warfare. It's just dominating the shooter market, and alot of more casual gamers will buy MW2 and feel they've got their shooter fix. View

Quite frankly thats just bullshit. I own both consoles so will simply buy for whichever I can get cheapest. Disk swapping? Seriously? If people cant be bothered to get off their arses for 5 seconds every 10 hours of gameplay then they have serious issues. Back in the PS1 days games with multiple disks (yes final fantasy) used to feel like you got a ton of value for money.

If the difference is extremely noticeable then i'll put my hands up and admit I'm wrong. However odds are the average consumer won't notice any difference whatsoever unless you stick a magnifying glass up to the screen. Most of the game's 'cutscenes' are in-engine and are not simply a video file. View

Put childish fanboy ego's aside you do realise that almost every single videogame you play has compressed data of some kind? Its completely illogical and an utter waste of space not to. Noone even notices the difference. Let alone the performance gains from compressed data due to access time being lower. This is just standard development logic, and is the case with literally pretty much every game out there.

I'm not saying the 360 version is superior in the slightest, but what I am saying is no doubt both versions will be pretty much identical. View

Cryptic seriously have bitten off more than they can chew. The actual gameplay of STO looks extremely average, and speaking to a couple of beta testers I know they've been left completely dissapointed.

They should have focused on either Champs Online or this. Any company doing 2 MMOs within 6 months of each other is just insanely ambitious. Both games will, and have, suffered dramatically from it, it seems. View

Does this work on Windows 7? Also can it be played in a windowed smaller screen? Tempted to pick this up as I never did play title originally, also for a tenner off Sendit.com seems like a pretty good price. View

I'm glad a console specific fansite is stating the opposing console's large upcoming game wont be as big as their console's large upcoming game. I'm sure that opinion isn't biased in the slightest. /endsarcasm View

I own a PS3, 360 and Gaming PC, yet Killzone 2 was my biggest disappointment of the year. Calling it innovative is an absolute joke, almost everything the game did was ripped out of somewhere else, yet not done as well as the games which contained said elements.

Visually however the game is absolutely stunning, if you want to show someone what your PS3 can do then KZ is definitely the game you get out. But just from a solid gameplay standpoint is was far from the perfection some fanboys want you to think.

One of my best buddies is a huge PS3 fanboy and he sold the game after a week due to being so disappointed by it. Our clan also stopped playing the game after only the first couple of weeks, it was all far too 'been there done that' View

When I saw the game demonstrated Paul specifically stated it was the 360 version... Not just that it was on a 360 controller. Very odd bit of miscommunication. Either way, game looks fantastic! View

Wanting an animator for the dashboard does most certainly not mean a new dashboard. They're always adding features, and this could be what others have said - that virtual world style thing.

Doesnt even make logical sense for them to INCREASE the price when theres competition thats free. Pachter really does just make bold guesses at times, don't get me wrong I like listening to the dude on the bonus round but he can come out with some total rubbish. View
