you can't plat paper mario with that cause it covers the ir sensor...
it is useless for anything but nes/sega/turbogrfx vc titles. Better off just buying the vc controller. View

Ok first off...
South Africa is in the shape it is in because of colonialism, and anyone who knows anything about the history of the british, french, italians, germany (or in the last couple decades the states) would know that all this infighting, political breakdown, poverty and war started because of it. Saying that you shouldn't trust the values of South Africa is about the most hypocritical thing you can say if you are from any of these countries.
Secondly, did it only occur to me that the ad with the beaten man was in bad taste considering how many people got shot, robbed, maimed and killed during the initial launch of the system? I think Sony is pretty insensitive to allow an advertising firm to make a joke of what happened this past Christmas. Finally, as a few others have said I don't know a single region in the world where there are PS3 shortages, so on all accounts this is terrible marketing. View

While I agree Mario Party should have been made a lot better...
Cooking Mama is a good game. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it a solid title. That is like saying nintendogs and animal crossing are stupid just because you like fps and 2d fighters, etc... View

This reeks of Hillary Clinton is more like it.
Ideally this would be a good thing as this would virtually eliminate censorship in videogames for adults, and the issue would become moot.
However, parents are the ones buying most of these games and giving them to their kids. So what do you suppose will happen when a kid is caught with an adult rated game? That's right, jail time for the retailer who sold it to the parent, and probably a lawsuit against the company. All of this because you know the parent won't own up to their own mistakes.
Also, that it is a harsher penalty than selling alcohol to minors is disturbing, but I guess the government doesn't make the same money off of games it does on alcohol and cigarettes... View

It is number three in a list where the top two are on a half dozen platforms. Collectively they are selling more but Mario Party is selling nearly 6 times as many copies as the number two spot in Wii only sales. View

Sadness, Zack & Wiki, No More Heroes, Opoona, Devil Kings 2, Umbrella Chronicles, Batallion Wars 2, Dragon Quest Swords, Fire Emblem, Guitar Hero, the best version of HP:OOTF, NiGHTS, Pokemon: Battle Revolution, Raving Rabbids 2, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, Rock Band, and tonnes more including an as yet untitled project by Koijima and Suda51.
Not to mention metroid, super smash brothers, metroid, mario galaxy, mario party, disaster: day of crisis, h.a.m.m.e.r. and several other nintendo in house titles.

Yeah, um, they have sold 7 million.
I think at this point it has passed fad status. Considering most of their AAA titles are coming out in the next 6 months (Mario, Metroid, SSB, FF, etc) I would say they are in a great position. If it was just analysts saying they were doing well I wouldn't pay any mind, but all of the top developers have said they want to work with the Wii, even huge names like kojima (who is working with suda on something as we speak) and Jaffe. Say what you want about the system now, but it has just as many good titles as PS3 does at the moment and has sold3 times as many. At this rate it will outsell the 360 by september. They are already in the black *something neither other system is yet* so when microsoft inevitably drops its prices once they switch to 65nm, Nintendo can put their system down to $199 or maybe even $150. The PS2 ports suck, I agree, but games like Sadness and No More Heroes show a lot of promise. Once PS2 dies Wii will be the only easily profitable system, and money makes the world go round. Most next-gen titles are huge financial losses. You can't spend 20-60 million on a game that only sells 500,000 copies, so you basically need to do as well as GOW to even make money on your investment. That just isn't good business. View

Every console generation is a fresh start. Especially when you lose all of your exclusives and your system goes from the least expensive to the most by 30% without any perceivable 30% value increase. It is just common sense. View

Although I admit to being a little disappointed with the PS3's exclusive offerings for '07 aside from Lair. At least the Ico team is back to work. That should give them a solid boost for '08. View

Command and Conquer aside...
Every game you listed was a shooter. Just because you are very limited in your gaming palette and can't see value in any game that doesn't have guns as the primary tool for "problem solving" doesn't mean that the entire gaming public that does is a bunch of stupid kids that don't really game. The Wii doesn't get discredited because of a few limited gamers. That is the exact reason why the 360 is doing so poorly in Japan. It is their perspective (for the most part, however inaccurate it might be) that all Microsoft has are shooters, and thus no useful and interesting games for them. View

How is it stupid?
I think it is pretty accurate. They couldn't afford to compete in the hardware challenge so they went about it a different way. In doing so they kept the section of the market that super realistic looking graphics intimidates, those without huge gaming budgets, those who don't like the more complicated controllers, etc. They also realized that they only had a good chance for solid 3rd party support if they could offer financial incentive, i.e: cheap development. I am not saying the wiimote isn't a great innovation, just that there are other factors at play. View
