Look, your analogy may seem similar, but it's really not. Your speculation about the U.S. government is just that: speculation. When I say that electronics sold in Manila's street stalls are knock-offs, it's a fact. It's common knowledge.

Ask any person who's been to our country about the bogus electronics and he/she will say it's true. Ask any Filipino, and they will confirm this because people here see it every day.

I may go out of my way and actually look for the PS3 Slim, but when I do find it, how would my pictures prove that it really is fake?

For goodness sake, it's a commentary, and as you may have observed, it's tagged as an "Article," which falls in the realm of commentary. If other commentaries do the same thing (i.e. speculate back and forth), then why do other articles get approved and mine doesn't? View

I can't believe people think this thing is real! Look, I'm from the Philippines, so I KNOW, ok? The cheap electronics being sold at our street markets are fake!

Granted, the ONLY exception would be those second-hand (i.e. stolen) mobile phones being sold at dirt-cheap prices.

I may not offer hard evidence, but my knowledge of how things work in my country could be considered insider information.

Knowing Sony, they're going to use this old line: "the company doesn't comment on rumors and speculation." If you're going to be content with that response, go right ahead. Ignorance is bliss, after all. View

I agree with SpoonyRedMage--Sony really wanted to push the UMD format, which is why they were selling UMD movies in the first place. Sony did the same thing with the PS3, pushing Blu-ray.

The two formats turned out differently: the UMD bombed, while Blu-ray won. Sony wouldn't be saying it originally planned UMD-less PSPs if the UMD format took off. View
