N4G admin.... Please... No More Talking Banners.

A visit to N4g is often irritating. If it isn't being stalked by people who disagree with you or bubble popping out of spite it's those friggin talking banners. I am absolutely getting fed up with my computer telling me I can win any number of stupid crap devices by clicking on said object.

N4g has it's fingers on the pulse of gaming ... more or less. We all know advertising is an essential part of this. Banners pay for the site. A site many of us spend too much time on. How many times has anyone else had to close a window merely because the dang thing started spouting something in a low quality flash waveform? The people on this site are infuriating to begin with. I don't need that feeling multiplied by having my computer yell at me every time I click a news story.

It is distracting and the more times this happens the more I just want to stop visiting the site. I don't like being advertised to to begin with, but when the dang things start screaming for attention literally, they are crossing a line.

In conclusion Someone needs to do something about this... any suggestions

I agree, but most news sites have this banner ads now. it's one reason I stopped visiting CVG as much.

Use FireFox, or IE7 pro - both are great at stopping banner ads.

With something like AdBlock Plus in Firefox they will be a thing of the past. And they won't be missed, as they are annoying if you have to look at them all the time...

Ya adblock plus does wonders. It stops about 99% of all banner ads(a few sneaky ones might get by the filter).

You sound angry dude, need to take some relaxation time off or something but I hate it as well but the worst one has to be the emoticon that goes "Hellooo".

That's my main problem with ads. I don't get pop-ups here, but those audible ads annoy the crap out of me. I was forced to use a flash blocker or conversely let the kids in the house know I had not in fact won a new Nintendo Wii.

yeah just look up shnazzyone in the forums and view the 140 post road to being forever banned. From introducing myself to banned in under a month i believe.

My greatest fault was spending a day in a topic i created viciously and satiricly defending the wii against all comers. It was actually kindof funny. But not to the admin apparently.

As others have said, Use Firefox and AdBlock Plus add-on.

You can even block just specific ad's if you want, so your not totally blocking out all N4G's ad'.
