You know that may be true, but lets not downplay what already looks incredible. To me, this is great, if FF XIII: Versus looks even better, awesome. We don't really know 100 percent it will stay exclusive anyway...SE have gone back on their, so called, "word" how many times this gen?? I say its best to enjoy what we have now instead of building up expectations beyond reason for a game we haven't even seen the gameplay of, only to be let down when we see that it too has been "downgraded" for multi.. View

This looks SO absolutely EPIC!!! Whoever said "lame" to this is lame, or is pissed off that the game looks INSANE in-spite of being multiplatform.

Really, its got lots of subtle things that really breathe life into the world. Flowing hair and clothing flowing in a natural way because of blowing wind. The giant shadows that can be seen rolling over the landscape signaling the presence of HUGE creatures. The team wasn't kidding when they said they would have SOTC moments...really superb.

Things like this are what to use all the hardware for. This is why graphics can matter, its to achieve real immersion. The problem with so many current gen games is that they just take certain things and pretty them up. You got to do it all or it just fails. SE has NOT failed.

I couldn't be happier. The Adamantoise really felt like a giant monster. They got the scale right, and I think the screen shake really helped to sell the sense of danger that thing poses!!! (and LOL when the players got stomped by it.

Wow, and finally the full summoning sequence for Bahamut. AHHHH, why, why no English subtitles. Just put them on PSN and Live, pleeeeeese SE.

I do think the excited guy with the glasses was super annoying however. Anyway, this is how to do a next-gen JRPG!! View

Its not this mentality didn't exist then, its that thanks to the internet (or no thanks) all these types of opinions are easier to ram through and make it appear as though everyone else thinks the same way. All the insideous (but effective) viral marketing rampant today is evidence for this. So, through observation people have come to realize that writing articles in a negative or sensationalistic way will garner more attention than something that is well reasoned or thoughtful.

This very site's submission system and article heat system are set up in such a way to give more exposure to these trashier kinds of articles. I know everybody says well if you don't like it don't respond, but see humans don't really work like that. HHG articles are the best evidence for ya.

This is the main reason that I don't in general bother trying to post articles here anymore since I don't care to post flame-bait. They are always full of missinformation and fluff. They are near the game equivalent of reading the National Enquirer or watching Fox News. View

They would probably loose a quarter to half their Western sales seriously even as it is it seems a lot more than usual are importing, and I'll bet MS said that they can't include them. View

I agree about your exclusivity comment, but at the same time I am reassured that SE graphical goals for this game were not pie in the sky Do you remember all the retarded comparison articles yelling about downgrades etc. This disproves that once and for all. As to being touched up, the game has 4x anti-aliasing so yeah this is pretty representative of real IQ.

I think the cut-scene engine is quite powerful. this is the first FF where it is not jarring to see CG transition to in-game. That is quite and acheivement.

In case you didn't know there are also 3 levels of IQ: CG, In-game cutcene of which the pic I posted comes from and Gameplay. However I have a stong feeling that Lightning's Scene-Drive ability renders using the cutscene engine level. Overall, this game looks really impressive. View

This has been the case with EVERY SONY GAME RELEASED this entire generation, including MGS4. The media think if it doesn't sell in the first month like Halo or MW it is a failure (never mind that eventually most of these games have past a million lifetime (or in MGS4 case) five million anyway. Oh and once this does happen its reported like the good news is some sort of surprise and like Oh, maybe PS3 isn't so fail afterall. Then the cycle repeats. Next up will likely be Heavy Rain, followed by GOW3.

Notice how even with PS3slim sales the revelation that PS3 got outsold (not said America) in Nov by 360 that the boost is over and now things will go back to "normal" So much is wrong with this mentality, biggest of which is that it is only North America that the 360 is still beating PS3 oh but I forgot Anywhere that PS3 leads is "irrelevent" like Europe, Japan, etc. View

Yeah, except the Killzone renders were a little to optimistic in terms of Polys and textures it still looked fantastic, but like I said. FF XIII seems to have literally nailed the render target. The area wasn't just for show, it is in the game.

Also(again no one is mentioning it), it appears that Scene Drive is the ability that Lightning was using to make all the 2006 trailer battle footage seem impossible, I can't wait to really see and play it in action. View

Yeah. I am also pleased that those who thought the original 2006 trailer was just pure concept are eating crow now. I can't believe no one is commenting on the fact that the new screenshot set shows final build versions from that area...

It even looks just as good (Although I wish they hadn't changed the bahemoth's sword. Oh well, minor quibble. The only real somewhat downgrade is a slight reduction in complexity to Lightning's hair. I would even say that this is a closer recreation than Kojipro managed with MGS4. View

In fact, if back then someone had told my they wouldn't even be out yet I would have called them nuts....At this point I am still mildly interested in Offset and pretty much given up on Vaporwaredevil... I really hope offset can still deliver. It was impressive. View

Anyhoo, This can only be a good thing. Now I love Jack Black, but the majority of what happened last VGA's was atrociously not funny and just painful to watch.

Hopefully it will be better if they just present the awards and show trailers. I look forwards to seeing how it all happens this year. View

Oh, wow. This looks like it will be a special game after all. In-game hair better than MGS4....facial in-game animation almost as good as cg counterpart. Technically, this game is indeed a masterpiece. The lighting in game is so CG-like. Did you all see the GIANT FREAKING DINOSAUR..IN GAME, OMG!!! View
