Yea I know that tech is always updated every 3-4 months, and I realise that when i buy something electronic wise that it will immediately go down in value and will be obsolete the next year. And I know im not being forced to buy 3D this and 3D that, Ill more than likely wait until the technology is better before venutring off into 3D, cause right now I just find it as a gimmick with no real purpose for homes just yet (except for movie watching, which you can do at the theatres)

My whole point is that, if things are going right, why change them. Everyone has finally adopted HD and Blu-Ray and the next gen systems, so why ruin what is already an increasing and rapidly growing industry by making new 3D TVs and 3D Blu-Rays? Isnt that like a punch to the groin for those who have boughten an HDTV in the last year or two(or last week for my matter) and who have gathered a collection of bluray movies already? Like Im all for 3D gaming, cant wait till the technology for that is mainstreamed and then in a few years every game will be in 3D, but for now, couldnt they wait? View

This 3D stuff is really...
starting to tick me off. That means I just spent $1000 on a new HDTV for my room, and have got a fairly good collection of bluray movies, etc, and now as of next year, Ill have to get a 3D HDTV, buy new Blu-Ray 3D discs, and buy 3D glasses?

Am I the only one on here who likes what this generation has brought, and leave it at that. Do we really need 3D TVs. I understand 3D for movies at the theatre but do we really need 3D TVs and 3d Blu-Ray?

Im not bothered by the price or anything like that, frankly if 3D costs a little more, then Ill save up for it, Im just sick of the fact that only now am I really getting into HD and BluRay and everything, only to find out that by next year it'll all be 3D, so all that money I put into my new TV and my blu-ray movies, etc, will become obsolete and Ill have to buy a new Blu-Ray player, and a new 3D TV and other crap as well. Isnt there anyone else on here who likes the way things are right now with gaming and normal full hd bluray, etc. without having all this talk about 3D? All the talk this entire past week has been 3D this and 3D that and I dont think its all that necessary. View

I just wonder...
how far will this whole 3D Stuff really take off. Im all for motion controls, Am really impressed by both Sony and M$ new Motion Controls, I more liking Sonys over Natal, but this whole case about 3D gaming and stuff is really awkward. Maybe its because I just bought a new tv 4 days ago, and now im a little choked that 3D is gonna be the rave next year and everything will be in 3D by the end of 2010, and that I would most likely hacve to shell out more money for a new 3D capable HDTV and buy Blu-Ray 3D discs. I can see it from a movie point of view, 3D movies are just starting to become standard and guaranteed by the end of 2010, most if not all movies will be in 3D, and then all will be put on Blu-Ray 3D discs. But from a gaming standpoint, I really cannot see this taking off. I know how cool it would be to see stuff flying at you from the screen and particle effects blown up in your face and what-have-you, but wont it defeat the whole purpose of what video games are supposed to be and how they are played.

Maybe im the only one who is not a big fan of 3D and having to wear glasses to just play a game, or call me old fashion, cause I really enjoy playing these games on my new HDTV, the graphics and everything just really stand out from the last generation of consoles, and playing them on older tvs. But, if this 3D thing really catches on, then I guess by 2011, ill be looking at 3D TVs and hopefully they will come down in price by then.

I just wanted to know if anyone else thinks that about 3D gaming, or if anyone else has thoughts on what they think 3D gaming will take off to. I hope im not the only person who likes the "new almost old fashion to playing video games" (and by new old fasion = playing games in this gen in HD, and not in new tech and 3D) View

For sure
Yea, most likely with a software update for PS3s, or a firmware update for other blu-ray players, eventually all standard blu-ray players out now, will have support for blu-ray 3d playback.

The only problem lies within that you cannot play a 3d blu-ray movie on a HDTV (standard) tv. I mean you could and get the 3d glasses, but it will most likely turn out funny, and not look good at all. Plus the other problem, is that most blu-ray players out now from other companies like sharp, samsung, lg, etc. wont see updates for a while, and the more those models get pushed back, the less likely they are to update them, meaning youd have to buy a new blu-ray player that supports 3D playback. Which is why PS3 is literally the best blu-ray player out on the market and one of the reasons I spent $650 on day one to get one of these, cause I believed in blu-ray...and look where it is now (also cause Blu-Ray = Sony, PS3 = Sony, so everytime theres a firmware or software update for Blu-Ray players, PS3 is the first to get it and make Blu-Ray movie experience that more exciting :) View

right on sashimi
Yea, I had been looking at a new tv for about a month now, and I remember reading N4G a while back and Sony had stated they were planning on launching 3D TVs in the later part of 2010. While I was initially like "Yea, and I cant wait cause I want one", i figured out that even if I get a new tv now, that will do me good for another 4-5 years, then when 3D TVs become standard, and Blu-Ray 3D becomes standard, then I may make the switch.

Its not like Sony would drop Blu-Ray support, as most likely, all Blu-Ray discs will have the 3d version built inside of every disc, as to not make it complicated for regualr average consumers, and to be loyal to those who dont have a 3d tv yet or those who may not want one and just live in full hd with no 3d.

But I could not pass up the deal i got from future shop. a Sharp 40" 1080p 120Hz HDTV and a Sony 5.1 Home Theatre system for $900CDN. It was like the best deal ever, and i couldnt pass it up (no matter how crappy of a sound system it came with, it was free and ill take it) :) View

Damn
so I just bought a 40' Sharp 1080p 120Hz LCD TV for nothing. DAMN YOU BLU-RAY. Only reason I bought that TV was to watch Blu-Ray in FULL HD, and now your coming out with 3D. LOL....Im actually not surprised at all, I knew they were coming out in 2010, but i decided, i needed a new tv now, and itll be another 3-4 years before 3D TVs and Blu-Ray 3D become standard n all'. I mean...people are just now fully getting into Blu-Ray, so the next upgrade what happen for a while.

Guess I better start saving up today for another new tv :) View

Yea thats right
I forgot that these are totally new ips from Playstation:

God of War 3 (definately new ip)
Gran Turismo 5 (there werent 4 before it right?)
Yakuza 3 (nobody played the first 2 i guess)
Resistance 3 (1 and 2 dont count)

PS3 really only has MAG and Heavy Rain (which looks insane) that are truly new ips. but you know - to each his own - right? View

I really want to know what the ratio is on this site. Like for every 1 Xbox 360 fan, there are about 60 Playstation fans. And its on every article, anti-360, pro-360 even multi-game news, theyll say, PS# will be better.

It would be interesting to see how many of us 360 faithful are left on this site, cant we just talk about our system and our games in harmony and amongst one another without having trolls and fanboys ruin it for us? I think that is too much to ask from N4G View

Really??
Your telling me youve been to the future and you have seen that the PS3 wins in 2010? BTW: Whats it like in 2010? Can pigs fly yet?

While I know everyone has their own opinions, but what Im saying is that dont judge just based off of fanboyism. Wait till 2010 comes and goes, then we will see. View

Yeah i know its just a regular story for a game....what I had meant to say was "With this much depth, story, etc..." there should have been a comma there, not "depth of story." View

"UC2 is not the game it could have been"

Oh...Im sorry. You were saying how you can create a game with this much depth of story, detail, animations, vibrancy, overall look and gameplay, multiplayer. Oh yea thats right...You CANT. Yeah I definately cant wait to play your game...actually on second thought, I dont really want to. Your game is making B***S*** articles just to give your crappy website some hits. View

@ comm13
Thanks for your input...And for the past couple of hours I have done some searching and found a couple neat programs/apps.

Having said that, I feel like ever since I bought my macbook pro, its like im forcing myself to like or become accustomed to something im not familiar with. and TBH, all these programs are on windows as well, and im much more familiar with the windows os than the mac os. Im not downing the mac os at all, i like having the fact that I dont have to install security software so no one can hack my info. But i just feel so used to windows and if i force myself to like macs, ill hate apple even more (especially since ive put about $1600 in my macbook, that i could have gotten in a Windows 7 laptop for about $1000)

But Ive got some thinking to do over the next week. Ill buy windows 7 tomorrow, and if i dont like it...ill keep my mac. if not...ill have to rethink my options. View

Im in confusion right now
I bought myself a macbook pro in August for school, and I thought it would be pretty cool to have, seeing is how Ive never owned anything Mac and thought they were easier to use. Now its almost November, and I can honestly say....I do not know what to do. Like I dont know whether to keep it anymore, or sell it and get all or most of my $1500+ that Ive put into it. Truth is, I dont find it that much different from windows and honestly everything I can do on a Mac, I can do on windows, with Office and Word and Powerpoint. Then I hear this news of the new macbook coming out and this new mighty mouse that looks sweet, but I do not know anymore. I think its because Im just so used to Windows, that for me to buy a Mac and learn another O/S just to use for school seems kinda weird. Dont get me wrong, I love how Apple design and create their products....They have one of the best, if not the best, design and engineer teams in electronics...And i love how my macbook is nice and sleek, nice 13" LED screen, nice battery, etc....but I do not know whether I should keep it or not? Any suggestions would be appreciated. View

i gotta say...
this must be Sonys last stab at the PSP brand, with their launching of the PSP Go in a couple of weeks, and then all these amazing games coming out for it this year like: Assassins Creed, Jak & Daxter, Motorstorm, GT, LBP (2010 maybe?), plus more. and then all the great titles already on it, killzone, resistance, ratchet and clank, god of war, etc, etc. I really do like the PSP over the DS, and with these games and the line up it has so far, its hard not to think of the PSP as the to-get-handheld this year. I dunno about this as well
Im really not too sure whether to go for this when it comes out, or wait for it to come down in price to about $199.99, which is what it should have been from the start, or wait till a good bundle/value pack comes out, which would make the $249.99 price tag worth while buying. I think I'll just wait to see which one comes first, either price cut, or bundle. View

Wouldnt it be....
really amazing to see Jak & Daxter on the PS3. It would just mean another sick, awesome and true franchise from PS2 on the PS3 and lookin awesome as ever. think ratchet and clank, god of war, mgs, killzone....all these franchises and more im leaving out, were terrific (killzone not so much) on PS2, and have been taken to the next level and just completely AWESOME on the PS3.

^LOL^ (@1.3)
on topic: If Natal wants any chance of succeeding, it will have to prove that it isnt just a crappy add-on and then later on be built into the 360. If it wants to succeed they should truely work on it 100% so that it wont cause more 360s to fail and get RRoD, be competively priced, around $80-100 sounds about right, considering the Wii Fit is $99.99, and must show how innovative it really is by showing us actual, live person demos in person, rather than showing a video where practically the whole thing could be made up.
