I'm confused...
Is Factor 5 currently porting a game from PS3 to 360? If not then why would he say this unless he had experience porting from one to the other and vice versa? Maybe it is just me but I don't get it. View

I would think that the store would have a 360 hooked up with the transfer and then they would just need to attach the two hdd and transfer. Usually stores have demo models so I would say that the store, or MS, would have thought about this too. But who knows. View

Nice...
Not only can I hop on my 360 and download South Park, Chapelle Show, Aqua Teen, and Sealab 2021, but now I can get Criss Angel, Extreme Sports vids, and anime. And the best part is that it is all on the cheap and without moving a muscle. Excellent. Now all I need is Family Guy and Futurama and I am set. :) View

I see what you are talking about with the add ons but by your definition I don't consider a bigger HDD or HDMI to be an add on. Neither add to the core functions of the system. They don't add anything new that was not there before, like the PS2 network adapter. I would say that they are upgrades. Add ons may not sell well in this market but upgrades might, especially when they have a use like IPTV DVR. It is hard to tell but they got me ready to buy that upgrade.

I think that MS and Sony are both future proofing their systems just in diferent ways. I think that from a business stand point, MS is doing it in a more savy way. It is better to take a small expense and Produce upgrades than to take a large immediate expense and be future proof immediatly. Especially when the market can change in a matter of a few years. Who knows in a matter of years digital distribution could overtake the HD market and MS wil be there with a bigger HDD and making money off it, where Sony would be loosing money to third party HDD. I think it is good business sense. Who knows though. View

" Upgrades and Add ons do not work. Either you get it right the first time or you are screwed." So the PS2 network add on made owners mad. How about the N64 expansion pack? The N64 rumble pack? The Light gun? The EyeToy? The race wheels? Any of those add ons make people mad? No because consumers like add ons and choices, it makes them feal like they are getting more out of their purchase.

Personally I won't be getting one of the new 360s because I am happy with the one that I have now. I can just add on to my original purchase with a 1st party HDD. Though I don't need the room, I haven't ran out so far, I would like to use the full extent of IPTV.

PS "What goes into 'HD' gaming?" Maybe HD games go into HD gaming. Not an HD movie player and not a cable that has yet to impress but HD games. HD has to do with resolution. Not space on a disc, not color pallets, not even the cable that you use. Those may be "next gen" but they don't add to game play or services, those are up to the developers, both 1st and 3rd party. View

Mac OS has been out for as long as windows has and Vista is definitely a copy of OSX. Mac gui came out before windows and has been copying things from it since then.

No, because the software isn't compatible. However you can plug your Ipod into the 360 and play the music from it.

On topic, this is good news on the Sony side of things. I don't know why they would have let background downloading without in-game downloading. That would be a horrible move. View

I think it is a port...
I would call it a port because the basic game itself is the same. I would call Guitar Hero 2 for the xbox 360 a port as well. It may have upgraded graphics, new songs, etc. but it is still the same basic gameplay. It may not be "just" a port, but a port none the less. If it was a new game it would have new moves, new story, new bosses, etc. Different gameplay throughout.
I also think that a remake is a huge graphical or other change. Like going from PS1 or N64 type graphics to PS3 or 360 graphics. That would be a remake but from PS2 or Xbox to the next generation is a revamped port. Then they add extra stuff from the first to get gamers to play the game again on the other system, i.e. the new character. That's my opinion at least. View

Maybe it's just me. And just so you know period in America period means "the end" not "full stop", unless it is talking about the menstral cycle.
