PLEASE check my link at the bottom, if you want to better understand the Big Bang. Oh it did happen ;)
I'm not sure I get your meaning.
But I'll just say, in order for anybody to believe that everything is a conspiracy, such as global warming, 911, 2012, etc, They could only do so with a lack of evidence. (or in the case of treating animals kindly, a lack of knowing what is ethical).
The problem is we have now, is that legitimate issues are getting muddled up with fiction.
By having actual issues like 911, which was a terrible religiously motivated attack turned into some silly conspiracy, it takes the focus off of the issue at the heart of it. Fanatical religion caused the attacks, not some "inside-job".
Same for global warming, it's an absolutely relevant issue, and we need to start telling our politicians we want them to reduce emissions, and make us more eco-friendly cars (and make them not cost an arm and a leg...also think of a less annoying term than eco-friendly or green) Whether or not global warming is man-made, it does seem it's happening and I think were better off playing "better safe than sorry" with this one.
People who like to come up with silly notions which have poor evidence (or in most cases none, or straight up lies) can go on and create as many conspiracy theories as they like about UFOs and Mayan calendars and ghosts, I could care less. But leave the real (factual, evident, verifiable) issues out of it.
Truth be told, I've subjected myself to too many hours disproving conspiracy theories. As most don't even merit anybody's time. But for some reason I am still compelled to. If my one comment can shed some common sense on an issue for one person than at least I feel a little better.
"How do you know? How do you know that you know? How do you know that you know that you know? "
I think I'd see that as a great time to teach the notion of critical thinking as that is exactly what a child asking those questions is doing!.
They are being critical.
And I'm happy to say I'd sit there all day and answer their questions.
And maybe hand them over a few science books ;)
If a child can make you that unfounded in your own beliefs or assertion that you know what you know, maybe you have your own doubts?
I base my beliefs in things that are quite easily proved, so for me it's easy to show children "why" I think it's true, but for people who have no REAL evidence for why the believe things I guess I could see why that question would seem loaded.
"How many scientists claim "energy cannot be created or destroyed." Then laugh at a believer in God. Then claim that all time, space, matter, and energy spawned from nothing in a "Big Bang.""
Interesting story about that.. they are still laughing (as am I), and it has to do with dark matter and dark energy. Watch and enjoy this mind bender,

You cannot disprove a negative. It's like me claiming that there are invisible elves making the earth rotate...prove me wrong.
