"Gaming's biggest audience are kids under 18, and lets face it, the industry treats it as such."

Is that still true these days? I'm not so sure. View

I don't think the word "corrupt" means what the author thinks it means. View

The notion of fake gameplay freedom reminds me of BioWare's games a bit. Obviously they give you a lot of dialogue choices throughout but many of them ultimately funnel you to the same point in the conversation (e.g. the enemy you're conserving with says, "Enough of this! It's time for you to die!"). It's not a bad thing - it keeps the game on track - but it's interesting to see how they create the illusion of greater freedom for the player. View

To be fair to Sony, what did you expect them to do? Buy full-page ads telling everyone the repair fees were going up? View

I switched over to the Western RPG camp in 1999, give or take. I was blown away by Baldur's Gate and really disappointed by FF8. Then came Fallout 1+2, BG2, and so on. View

I just don't care about the new equipment period. By the time DLC is released, I've generally finished the main campaign already so what's the point of collecting better weapons? It's not like I'll need them for anything. View

I don't know enough about what Halo: Reach promises to be able to say what would make it a disappointment. They really haven't start to "sell" this game to us yet. View

...You're the guy I argued about Aion armor with, weren't you? :P

My point is just that new content is more likely to keep people playing than slightly better looking trinkets. Blizzard's more concerned with folks who have finished all the available content and are simply farming equipment.

I agree about the equipment dyes. That's too simple of a thing not to implement. View

Well if they changed the character models, they'd have to go back and change a lot of other things like the equipment too, no? I guess they figure it's more important to keep generating gameplay content. View

Oh God, Snakes on a Plane. I forgot about that one. "We have to put a barrier between us and the snakes!" View

The classes seem like they were designed with PVP in mind. Each Republic class has a rough equivalent in the Empire. I imagine they'll have crafting, though, even if there isn't a specific class for the job. View

Yeah, there's only one "find all this random crap we hid throughout the game world" Achievement/Trophy. And that's audio diaries, which you want to find anyhow. View

Off-hand, I can't think of any major FPS franchises that are still rated Teen. View

Well, DICE is making the multiplayer so I'd imagine it'll have a similar feel to BF. I don't think they've stated what engine it'll use, though. It might seem too much like BFBC2 if it also uses Frostbite. View

Yeah, I don't get why people were so eager to level. It's the beta, for crying out loud - all that data's gonna get wiped when the game is released. View
