Yeh and...
Mercs 2 will no doubt be a great game if it delivers all that is promised, yet the game style is completely different to Saints and GTA even though they all fall into the sandbox category. View

well...
I think there's a general sentiment that once the honeymoon period wore off GTA IV was pretty barren, especially once you'd beaten the game, and in comparison to San Andreas. I also think GTA IV perhaps took itself a little too seriously in creating a more realistic slant and forgot about the fun factor - although the multiplayer made up for this to a certain degree.

I thought (like many others) SAints Row was a darn good game for what is was, and that Volition should be able to improve upon what they accomplished. View

hmmmm
I don't know what to say. Voice of God - I thought people had already attributed it to a voice in the game already?

As someone already said, it would be great if those two HIDEO channels were used at the start of the game and a new movie played there. One for Heaven (feat. "voice of god") and the other Hell.

What would be even better is if what determined which one you viewed was based on how many kills you had in the last play-through on your game complete save file... View

Although as a gamer you should be able to overcome these things. It just makes the game a little less accessible than what it could be. View

Erm
She is modelled well but her face just doesn't look right, I'm not sure what look the artists were after. It's a cross between real and cartoon. View

Then you've never read a newspaper before or understand how the media works. Headlines are meant to be topical and attention grabbing. View

Based on your reasoning there would be no demos at all. Also it's not just about demos, what about exclusive gameplay movies, Live stream of press conferences etc. View

because they do
Microsoft has hyped up its "bringing it home", creating an impression that you can sit on your sofa and be a part of the E3 experience. For most people this is playing future games, translating to demos for those not in attendance. When you only get one or two demos out of potentially a lot more, then yes the whole concept has been overhyped, especially if all the other media like trailers can be view elsewhere and far quicker than the Marketplace. It's a shame
Demos we could have been playing:

Fable 2
Viva Pinata TIP
Banjo Kazooie
Fable pub games
Halo Wars
GOW 2
Fallout 3

All MS games.

Demos we got

Too Human. View

as much as the next person but Zhuk, your comments are way OTT, although you are entitled to your opinion. View

That almost sounded like PR spiel. Plant much? View

It does not bode well if the developers have to make a 1000 videos to explain the game's features. View

This generation
That's also a valid point, and a testament to the way things are this generation. At least it shows that this kind of activity isn't strictly limited to Microsoft. Where is the justification here though? Last generation, content was free - maybe I'm ignorant, but I didn't hear loads of developers making complaints about how they should be charging for additional content.

Also you have to consider those fans of the game who aren't hooked up to Live with their Xbox 360 and that they miss out on stuff like this because it's not in the game they purchased. View

You
Miss the point entirely. This kind of content used to be free and in some games it is free (as one poster has already pointed out in MGS 4). People should be able to stand up and say "I'm not purchasing it out of principle".

I'll say it again, this content should be available as in game unlocks.

I believe Tecmo allowed gamers to purchase swimwear for DOA XVB 2, for those who couldn't be bothered or not had the time to unlock it via play. This raises other issues, but at least those who stuck with the game didn't have to pay. It seems the reverse here, where those fans who stick with the delightful game, get fleeced if they want new stuff to play with. View

and then what?
charge even more for this sort of content to cover the loss? Or worse, start charging for demos and other stuff that's free now. I think the Live cost is justified, but these additional costs are certainly not. View

So called fan service?
These kind of extras are classed as fan service, yet with the added cost attached to them means that the fans are being milked, when it is those fans who support the game. That's really quite a poor way of treating your fans in my view. View

These activities are not exclusive to Microsoft as you should be well aware. There's something about this generation of consoles that has develop the idea.

I blame Halo 2 on Xbox as this seemed to be the forerunner of charged for content. View

A part of me believes that there's developers working hard on new stuff for the love of their work. They would like to offer this for free so that more gamers can appreciate what they've accomplished. The other part of me feels that executive decisions turn this into a way the company can make some more money. View

Miss the point
The idea behind these games is FUN. Not spending years of practice to become good at real instruments. It's a the pick up and play mentality that makes Rock Band a good game for family and friends. View
