Wow, this is an insane bargain. It was already a great deal at $50. $20 is obscene. View

Sorry Mahr, I didn't mean to suggest than the N64 and GameCube weren't profitable. Nintendo is very business savvy, and doesn't have to be the market leader to be successful.

My point was that even if consider the GC and N64 to be commercial failures, there really are no grounds for comparing them to the Wii. View

What about them? I'm really not sure what you're implying.

If you mean that both were eclipsed in sales by other systems, yes, that's totally true. Neither were absolute failures, but both were far from hugely successful.

But what does this have to do with the Wii? The N64 and GameCube sold below their competitors from launch. The Wii has consistently outsold its competitors. Besides the fact that all three systems were made by Nintendo, what is the point of comparison here? View

Oh god, here we go again.

First of all, even if the Wii did not sell another unit, it would be far beyond fad status. How many Tickle Me Elmos were sold two Christmases after it was released? Not over four million. Three Christmases? I don't know about Elmo, but it looks like the Wii will sell around two million this year.

And no software sales? Then why are 4 to 6 of the top 10 best sellers titles each month Wii games? And these aren't brief hits that fizzle after a month. No, these titles sell well month after month after month.

Yes, there is a 3rd party software problem. There's no denying that. 1st party titles sell much better than 3rd party ones. Of course, most 1st party Wii games are also of a distinctly higher quality than many of the 3rd party alternatives. Still, it's a problem and I think 3rd party developers need to ask themselves how Nintendo's titles are selling so well and so consistently and their titles aren't.

Anyway, I know this post sounds very fanboyish, and I apologize for that, but the apocalyptic speculation in this article is so absurd that I couldn't hold back. View

Wow, a list indeed. This is nothing but a list. No explanation for each game, no exposition whatsoever. The entries aren't even number. And the title is incomplete.

How did this ever get approved? View

There were eleven games better than this in the last ten years?

I couldn't name one. View

I'm wondering this also. I thought S&P2 was supposed to be released in the first quarter, and Mario Galaxy 2 seemed like a likely Q1 release also. Maybe they're not on here because they haven't been dated yet. View

World of Goo is only #10, but Dead Space Extraction is #4?

I know lists are completely arbitrary, but that just seems terribly wrong. View

I really regret paying full price for this. I think I would have liked it more had I bought it for $20-30, since I wouldn't have been disappointed by its length. View

First of all, thanks EvilTwin. I appreciate the compliment. (I wrote this.)

Let me say that I don't think offline multiplayer is absolutely essential, but I do think it can be and has been a huge factor in Wii sales. How many of the highest grossing Wii games have hotseat multiplayer? Mario Kart, both Wii Sports titles, Smash Bros., NSMB, and several others. Meanwhile, the games with the most robust online options don't seem to sell at the same level. I'm not arguing that developers should neglect online in favor of offline, just that they neglect offline multiplayer at their own risk.

Also, if a game is has enough replay value and player choice without extensive multiplayer (like Twilight Princess and Galaxy), that may very well be enough. View

I am so frustrated about being broke. I'll have to add this to the growing list of titles that I want but cannot afford. View

Nobody bought Wii Motion Plus? Isn't Wii Sports Resort one of the best selling games of the year? Didn't Tiger Woods sell well also? In fact, didn't all of the M+ pack-in games sell well? So, in fact, well over a million M+s have been sold.

The reason few games have been released utilizing it so far is because Nintendo failed to provide developers with the tools they needed to create M+ games in a timely manner. In fact, many devs didn't see the tech until it was unveiled at E3 '08. I'd expect more games utilizing it next year. View

I hope this mean they are making the game less, rather than more, linear.

I agree that the core structure was getting old, but I'd hate to see Zelda become another highly linear, wants-to-be-a-movie "adventure" game. That would be tragic.

But if they open up the world a bit more, and make the quest order less rigid, that would be very cool. View

Ditto.

I would have bought it day one, if I could have afforded to. Instead it joins the ever-growing list of Wii games I need to buy eventually. View

Yes, looking forward to Line Attack Heroes also.

When will Nintendo give us more concrete news on that game? It has been months since they've mentioned it. View

Please release this in the US, Nintendo, please. View

The fact that you insist that a beautiful 10+ hour game should be released at bargain price as a downloadable title pretty much explains why this was released on the Wii and not on the PS3/360. View

Holy wow, Zombies Ate my Neighbors! I didn't think that would ever hit VC. Now we just need a sequel. View

Oh god, it's PSXExtreme again.

Why can't they just publish news relevant to Sony products, rather than dredging up the imagined console war. I know they're chasing hits, but Nintendo Everything stinks exclusively to Nintendo news without sinking to these inflammatory lows and they get tons of hits. View
