No probs here or with the girlfriends. If you don't want to be forcefed the firmware then just don't sign out of the PSN. I didn't download 2.0 til the 2nd day it was out because my machine is normally left on all the time.

2 60 gigs here, info board turned off. Turned that thing off instantly...stupid feature IMO. View

Cooke, they were the 9th largest retailer in 1999. They filed for Chapter 11 Bankrupcy in 2002 closing down almost 300 stores in the U.S. Your figures are almost 10 years old...

As of 2005 they were not even in the top 100.

This is probably a smart business decision for K-Mart and that's how it needs to be looked at. There company has been financially unstable for quite some time and there stores are closing down all the time. Why not take some money from the guys at HD-DVD to go exclusive? They need all the $ they can get. It almost shows some desperation from HD-DVD...not sure why you would bother with K-Mart, but, whatever. :-) To each, their own. Either way you slice it, I don't see this putting a dent in the war. I could care less who wins, I play games. View

You can also play as the Skeleton skin for Halloween. Just play an online game and any time you are Human you will be a skeleton lol. :-) This will be taken out of the game tho, just a treat for the holiday. View

The patch isn't out yet fellas, they haven't set an official date. The Ratchet and Clank unlockables are available tho by going to myresistance.net, clicking on My Profile and getting the unlockable codes (same way you unlocked the Cloven online).

No downloadable patch yet, maybe Thursday, maybe not.

Who buys a PS3 to play PS2 games? You know anyone who bought a 360 to play XBOX games?

Fact is he hasn't had a ps2 in 6 years and hasn't played a ps2 game in 6 years. If he was that big of a PS fan he would have been playing some of there games over the past 6 years...the ps2 is dirt cheap. Sorry, I just think he's pro-MS (which is his choice and I respect it) and trying to stir up something when MS is just as guilty in the bc department. View

Let me get this straight...

You haven't owned a PS2 since 2001 but backwards compatibility is very important to you? That just doesn't make much sense to me. You're obviously not playing your old PS2 games (if you have still have them) without a PS2. If you were THAT concerned about bc and being able to play old ps1/ps2 games wouldn't you have played some in the past 6 years?

That's got nothing to do with your beta comment. I've never paid for a beta and I've never paid for a demo.

You are right they are milking more money from the consumer but what company doesn't? All of these "special editions" and marketing ploys are just ways to get more money out of the consumer. This is nothing new and Sony certainly isn't the only one who has done it.

Each of the big 3 console makers get you in there own way. We could sit here and go back and forth for hours and not get anywhere. If you think it's a ripoff, don't buy it. I'm not even saying that I think it's right or wrong but don't act like it's some kind of atrocity that's never occurred in gaming history. We get nickle and dimed all the time (whichever console we play). View
