I don't know. Sometimes I think I prefer there being a strong visual engine out there for wide use so developers can spend more time on the gameplay. Of course that could just be wishful thinking on my behalf. View

I've never actually been a fan of the more realistic racers.

My most anticipated racing game is actually Mod Nation Racing. I love the idea of being able to build my own tracks. View

I think the nonlinear game is impossible.

There is never going to be a game developed without some finite limitations on it. Unless it's something like a solely online FPS game, you have to begin and end somewhere. All we can do is make things a bit LESS linear. IE: offering multiple endings. View

I use to play this on the computers at my school. At least some knock off of it. View

I'm a big fan of the human turret myself.

AKA: the guy who stands in one spot shooting at you whilst you pop him in the head. View

I have always had a bit of an uncomfortable relationshop with Orson Scott Card.

On one hand, I think he is a brilliant writer, responsible for what is easily my favorite book. I have read Ender's Game literally twenty times and while I'm not always a fan of his other books, it is a glorious novel.

On the other hand, I despise his politics. There was a time in my life when I was a vehement Republican and even then I was uncomfortable with his views, especially on homosexuals.

While I could in some ways envision boycotting his books, in this case I think it would be innappropriate. Few video games are made by one man, and as many, including the article's author have pointed out, we'd be naive to think that all of them have views that people would find completely innoffensive. Chances are we've all indirectly financed someone we disagree with at some point. So in this case, I think boycotting would be pointless and I agree with the author for basically saying as much. You people need to actually READ the article.

All this said, I am disturbed by the way people immediately jumped on the gay-bashing band wagon about this. Not in every case, but some of the comments posted here are indicative of some definite foolishness. For the record, gays have every reason to be opposed to people like Mr. Card. When someone starts calling you a sexual deviant and tries to deny you a right as basic as marriage based, then write back with such derogatory comments. View

It's too expensive. Why should I pay $170 for something that just plays old games? Granted there are a lot of great old games, but really there are only a few retro titles I'm interested in and most of those are on the Virtual Console or available via abandonware so why should I invest in a whole new device?

It is a cool little thing, but it will probably be unnecessary for most gamers. View

I think this is exactly the FPS I've been waiting for. Things have just gotten too easy in my opinion and a brutally difficult experience could be refreshing.

Not to mention how much I loved the original game. I always loved controlling a squad of soldiers. It was so much fun! View

Loved this game! I got a kick out of how the brother from Boy Meets World was the voice of Gideon. View

My wife bought me a new flat screen to go along with MGS4 when it came out. So yeah... she's pretty cool. View

Anyone play that lousy BSG game that came out a ways back? There's a BSG flight sim in development by an indie studio. Based on the trailers and pics it'll be pretty impressive.

I loved Mark Hammil as Chris Blair. Watching the FMVs today, they're certainly endowed with a certain level of cheese, but the story still beats a lot of what comes out today. It was ambitious for TODAY, let alone ambitious for its time. View

I agree, the movie tried too hard and Freddie never helps ANYTHING. That said, I do think it is still one of the not totally horrible game movies, though that doesn't say too much. View

Ugh. I tried Freelancer. It was fine, but not much else. Kind of like an MMORPG without the interesting side. Honestly, I think everyone should give Starlancer a try. The story is nothing overly special, but the missions are pretty dynamic and it has some cool battles involving cap ships. View
