Is it really 50 million it's up to now? Wow, I really ought to have known that :)

Cheers for the heads up on that. View

You can go on about Lair, Heavenly Sword and Warhawk as much as you like but if you ask me, this is Sony's ace in the hole.

Despite having the best casual image, the Wii has nothing to match either Buzz or Singstar both of which have beena phenominal success on the PS2 and will probably have very long legs when they are both finally released on the PS3.

The price might not be casual but for me Singstar is the game that would make me get a PS3. I play my 360 for my action titles and hardcore titles (oblivion, Halo 3 etc) and what not but when it comes to gaming with the missus she is just not interested in it as a console. Meanwhile she won't stop asking me when Singstar is coming out for the PS3 so we can get one.

The online/community feautures sound awsome and the PS2 version is one of the best multi-player experiences you can have when you are drunk.

If you want to talk about the software that the PS3 has coming that nobody can match, then this is it. View

"DS has crap hardware"

Erm, I think there about 36 million people that would beg to differ...

Also, have you played Metroid Prime Hunters? Proof that a FPS can work on handhelds and the controls on the DS are much better suited to FPS games than the PSP's. View

Seriously this game is massive, I have been playing for 45 hours and there I am only about half way through the main quest and I have only joined one guild. There is so much to do here it is almost silly, I love it. I won't be needing those expansion packs for some time to come, but when I get them I bet they will be great. View

I think the old dog has got some life left in it yet to be honest, at least until sing star and buzz are released on the PS3 View

Played this at Leipzig and it was certainly no tripple a title then, of course there is time for things to be polished but my hopes are not high. View

Can someone tell me what this competition called '2008' is, what I need to do to enter and what I get if I win? View

That's strange, over the last month I have seen that game available to buy in both Spain and Germany. It definately wasn't one of those coming soon boxes either, they were sealed copies with barcodes and everything. View

I agree, Comdemned Criminal Origins was criminally underated. After completing Prey, Lego Star Wars II, Perfect Dark Zero and playing the hell out of MotoGP I finally got around to Condemned and it eclipsed the lot.

I swear to god, it is easily the most frightening game I have ever played, that whole abandoned subway section still gives me the creeps. And it had a great climactic, dark ending. Definately the first truly next gen experience I had on my 360. View

This is the one I have been waiting for, have you seen the tech demos!

Blows everything else away in terms of character models and the scope and ambition behind the title is also quite something. View

It's a fair point, but this invention may well be a godsend for gamers on a budget out in parts of the world were wages won't afford an expensive under the TV console.

Also look at how far mobile games have come, give them another couple of years and they may stil be a long way off replicating home consoles but they will certainly be of the sort of quality that anyone would be happy to play on their TV.

You are right about the controls though, something drastic has to be done there for the medium to ever be an alternative to other home gaming solutions. View

Seriously I would love to be an analyst, it seems they just make it up as they go along.

"I think (name drop forthcoming game) could help turn the tide of the console war when it is released later in the year"

And hey presto...

KERCHING!!!

That'll be a six figure a year salary please.

Looks wise this game is a triumph but the script and dialogue are downright laughable and if anyone saw a movie with voice acting as bad as that in it they would not be able to take it seriously.

Maybe the hamminess is deliberate but, come on 'I've never been a hero, never was, never will be' eughhhh.

Also I hated that bit with the team of guys at the start headed up by that girl. None of them are wearing helmets and the part where she explains the suits they are wearing to snake had me squirming in my seat. Show don't tell, if it's not integral to the plot then it shouldn't be spelled out (IMO).

Even so, I am sure this is going to be a corker I just wish enough people were critical of Kojima for him to take note and take his narratives above b-movie status. I'm sure he's capable of it but with everyone worshipping the ground he walks on he seems content to churn out stuff that if it were a film would be straight to DVD and no mistake.

What in the name of Metal Halo Hyrule on the Xstation Lite does this have to do with gaming? View

To the guy below my initial comment, just to clarify when I mentioned Dead Rising and Lost Planet I meant the franchises/future sequels not the current games.

You made me realise my comment was unclear :) View

I doubt MS is going to Buy Capcom. It just doesn't happen with bigger more established studios (apart from Rare of course but then, what had they done since the days of the N64 before MS got hold of them).

I think this is more likely to be the official announcement of Dead Rising and Lost Planet going multi, a release date for DMC and maybe a new 360 exclusive title.

Still if MS were to buy Capcom it would certinaly help them in the East. Seriously doubt it is going to happen though. View

This game looks like it will be fun for its duration but I have to say that the gameplay is a bit repetative (played it at Leipzig). I'm sure unlockable moves etc as well as the gorgeous visuals do keep things ticking over until the credits roll, but I think that Heavenly Sword has more potential as a franchise and I don't think that the game that has already been released is a classic or worthy of the hype.

A sequel with co-operative multiplayer, extra characters and modes plus some variation in the gameplay (besides the current perfuntory shooting sections) could make this the killer app Sony is looking for.

Story wise and visually this game looks like it has the right stuff, its the rest that needs polish. High hopes for the sequels but as it stands this is a wait and buy when its half the price title for me. View
