Exactly right
This is the reason why Sony put an HDMI port on the PS3. Not because it delivers a superior signal, but because it is the only interface that is capable of protecting their precious Blu Ray movies. VGA and DVI can do 720 and 1080 resolutions just as well as HDMI can. View

It's going to feature classic players only
they can't include current players because of the exclusive deal with EA, but if they bring this back at 19.99 like they did with 2k5, it's going to be all over for Madden when their licensing agreement expires because the engine, the gameplay and the features are far superior in 2k. View

It is a classic players game, though
I am going to buy it anyway just for the game engine and playability, which trounced Madden back in 05 and is still better than Madden 06 and 07. I am hoping they keep the cheap price tag that 2k5 had, too. Once the exclusivity contract expires, 2k is gonna spank Madden hard. View

Nokia needs to give up
The first time N-Gage was released, all they really had to compete with on the games front was Gameboy Advance. Now they have DS and DSLite, which are setting sales records everywhere, the GBA SP and Micro, and the PSP. View

Never happen
It's too easy to inflate your gamerscore by using other people's saved games on a memory card. Microsoft would go broke if they started giving away premiums in exchange for gamerscore points. View

Yeah, right
you PS3 guys loved this game when you thought it was coming out on PS3, now that it isn't, it's no big deal. Give me a break. View

Could be Mc Kool
I wouldn't doubt if someone hadn't broken in trying to see if they were holding back any Wii's after all the reports of Best Buy, Target and Circuit City withholding theirs. They didn't find one and decided to rob the first employee who showed up instead. View

Vista will be an expensive upgrade
A lot of people still use machines without PCI-Express motherboards and there likely won't be any DX10 compliant video cards released in AGP or PCI format. To use Vista Ultimate with all the bells and whistles turned on requires a lot of power beyond video, as well. Anyone still using a machine less than 2ghz CPU or with less than 2gig Ram is going to faced with upgrading their current system, or buying new if their motherboards can't be upgraded. BIOS chips will probably need flashing, as well, to support upgrades and if your BIOS version is no longer being updated, your old motherboard becomes useless. The new DX10 video cards require a lot of power, too, so power supplies will need to be upgraded. Vista is going to find a lot of old computers and components dumped in landfills. View

I don't see why he wouldn't be credible
One of the first things tech companies do is buy a sample of their competitors product and tear it down to see what makes it tick. A Microsoft engineer probably has the same or nearly the same amount of knowledge as to the internal workings of the PS3 as a Sony engineer. View

OK so basically
having a scaler chip built in like the 360 is similar to having optical zoom on your digital camera, as opposed to the PS3 scaling solution which is like having digital zoom. I can't see where this is an acceptable solution. Games blown up to 1080 resolutions are going to have horrible pixelation which defeats the purpose of displaying them on a 1080 TV in the first place. View

Immersion wins the battle but loses the war
If this new force feedback is substantially cheaper than Immersion's version, they may have shot themselves in the foot with their lawsuit as MS and Nintendo would also likely switch to the new system to lower their production costs. If they hadn't sued, this new system may not have been developed. View

" I’m Mr. Optimism"
Optimists live in their own little world filled with teddy bears and bunny rabbits that is far disconnected from reality. Of course he won't say anything negative about Sony. He's probably one of those happy, chirpy people who greets you with a sing-song voice that makes you want to strangle him the moment he enters the room. View

" They didn't like the new controller. So Sony came back to the old good one. People whined again."

Yeah, real nice controller. They lose a lawsuit and refuse to pay a license fee for rumble so they hastily rework the DS2 with motion sensing tech from Nintendo and a guide button from 360, and then on top of it all, they make it wireless, BUT you have to plug the controller in to sync it and then when it goes wonky while you're playing, you have to plug it in again, or if your friends come over for some multiplayer they have to plug their controllers in to sync them. Sh1t. Sony should have just have made wired controllers instead. You spend more time with the wires connected than disconnected, anyway, so WTF did they bother going wireless for?? At least Microsft used good old fashioned Wi Fi instead of a custom version of Bluetooth that doesn't work.

"They had production issues and people said it's bad bad bad. They solve those issues and ship. But people only see that it doesn't fly off the shelves"

Yes, production issues are bad because the people who want them can't get them, unfortunately, with all the bad press, by the time Sony resolved their production issues, nobody wanted them anymore. With a 9 month launch delay and all the hype about the technology, they better damn well fly off the shelves, or they have failed. Nintendo went low tech this time and is killing it in sales. Nobody cares about the hardware inside the PS3, the Blu Ray player in particular. Even the ebay scumbags couldn't shift them and brought them all back. If there was a demand, why isn't it still sold out everywhere like the Wii?? Why aren't people camping out overnight to get them, like the Wii?? Why aren't people entering life threatening radio contests to get one, like the Wii?? It's because nobody wants them. Retail employees even say they aren't selling. What more proof do you fanboys need??

"HDD support for PS2 games. Fixed the jaggies issues."

OK, I can't argue these, but these are the only good news that's come out of Sony from the time that the PS3 was being conceived, and they are minor items at best. It's like rearranging the deck chairs while the Titanic is going down. There are bigger things to be worrying about.

" Talented developers say the PS3 is cool to develop for etc, and people say "bah, they lie, bah they're paid to say that"

For every developer who says they like developing on PS3, there are 4 or 5 more who hate it. Even those who do have something positive to say about it, also say something negative in the same breath. "PS3 sometimes horrific, sometimes beautiful". You don't hear comments like that from 360 developers. It is nearly universal praise about how much easier it is to create effects on the 360 than it is for the Ps3. Also praised is the level of technical support given to all developers, including third party developers. Now we find out that PS3 really did have a scaler chip all along, but Sony was keeping it a secret. Why? They didn't want third party developers making games that looked better than first party ones. If the 1080i problem hadn't become such a big issue, would we know about the PS3 scaler today?? Doubtful.

"They don't analyze facts. "

I just analyzed the facts, and the conclusion is clear. PS3 is going to be 'Dreamcasted' by Wii60. View

There will be no price cut
A big chunk of the price Sony is getting in Europe goes to taxes. Sony isn't going to be able to cut prices without putting themselves deeper in the red, unless the European governments are willing to forego their pound of flesh, which isn't likely to happen.

800,000 Wii's sold in Europe last quarter, only because there were shortages and they had to replace those wrist straps which slowed delivery. Wii is out there now and still being snapped up as soon as it hits shelves. Once Nintendo starts making regular deliveries to Europe again, they will continue to sell out there, too. Nintendo has 4 million shipped already and PS3 sits on shelves gathering dust in both Japan and N. America. The gap is going to continue to widen in Nintendo's favor. Nobody is going to buy PS3 in Europe (or anywhere else) at the prices they are charging except for the fanboys with the deepest pockets.
