You could probably even take the blame back to the Atari 2600, even though the industry crashed between that and the NES. That ET game got everyone's juices flowing View

Guess it lives up to its name then. Haha. This is pretty cool, though View

Yeah it was very disappointing that for almost 3 weeks after release, I was unable to play the game on my normal PSN profile (I have around 65 friends) View

I think because of the storage issues and the fact that the Wii doesn't have a strong online component, we won't really see any betas there View

With the high success of the open betas for everything that's been out this year, do you think more third parties are going to jump into the foray and start putting out multiplayer betas in 2009? View
33 days 18 hours ago
Yeah, that's a very good point. Really trusting reviews from OXM or PSM for first party titles for their platforms isn't the best idea. You know they're going to give terrific scores regardless View

@taz8080 - Yeah, that's a good point. It's really the only industry where people actively want to beta test the product. People want the bragging rights to say they were among the first to play whatever the next big game will be View

Yeah, there are a ton of betas going on. Socom and LittleBigPlanet just ended, Resistance 2 is starting, Killzone 2 will be expanding. You don't really see too many third party betas, other than CoD5 and SSFIIHDTR. View

I think in the case of Socom, it's not so much a game problem is they didn't have enough server infrastructure in place. View

For testing the waters, I think the developers should offer demos. The gaming industry needs to start using Beta testing for what it is intended for... finding and fixing bugs. View
33 days 18 hours ago
Yeah it's a gimmick that Marketing is using. People are using Beta testing as glorified demos instead of actual beta testing for the games. View

I honestly don't see much point of getting print magazines anymore for gaming news. The same reviews of those magazines are all available online, as are most of their editorials. For me, most print media has become obsolete View

Yeah, fanboyism is a problem. Just look at most of the comments here, sadly View

Nice to have new blood join the podcast this week. Hopefully more of the new writers at Loot Ninja will join in next week. View

Yeah I've gone from laughing at the game to being fairly intrigued. Nintendo doesn't do things like this without thinking of mass market appeal. View

Yeah, Ravi was a debacle. From early reports, though, I'm hearing that Wii Music is actually a lot of fun. Haven't gotten a ton of hands on time yet, so I'll reserve my own judgement View

Yeah once they grow up and realize they got to sit down and play stuff with the guy who created some of the best video games of all time... wish I got that opportunity when I was a little kid View

I think they're a nice addition, but it needs to be limited a bit more than what it is now. You get too many people unleashing dogs and they're everywhere. You spend to much time melee-killing them to shoot at enemies View

I think on the campaign side of the things, the addition of 4 player co-op might be enough, with the solid multiplayer, to make people hop over and pick this one up. View

Hahaha. Yeah, the attack dogs are a bit unbalanced. Hopefully they rework that a bit for the final release View
