I enjoy the 3 hour podcasts on a weekly bases, it's a shame that the two best personalities have left within a week of each other but if i got offered a chance to make games i would drop just talking about them in a heartbeat. I don't think 1up is going down, it's probably the one thing keeping Ziff Davis alive. View

A classic review, but i still like the game

Frickin Hilarious, though i should look out for agents trying to end my existence because i have defended the death sequence, and i will again. I still think it shouldn't be skipable otherwise why even bother avoiding death and it's better then restarting from a checkpoint(or worse the last time you remembered to save) and losing the loot you picked up AND having to fight the same enemys that just killed you only there back at full health. But i guess that's just me.

I also defended the camera which i take back as it got ten times worst that in the demo level. but i cant offer a better solution other than zooming out more when there are threats out of sight.. which may remind people of the 06 E3 too much. View

Agreed but..

Yeah PS3 needs a price drop, but Xbox needs to put Multiplayer on the Silver memberships (ie make MP free), drop the price of the 120GB hard drive and get an add-on Blue Ray player in '09. Because a) Sony will(well at least they have too) drop the price in 09, Blue Ray movies will be cheaper and more attractive to the average consumer, And by then Sony should have matched XBL's current features. View

This year will be great for both consoles, but seeing as 360 is getting Left for Dead, Gears 2 & Fable 2 by Christmas. I think that's enough to hold off the PS3 from taking the 08 title... sure we don't have a MGS 4 quality release, but Gears will beat it in sales. Banjo Kazooie may not match(or come close to) Little Big Planet, but it'll scratch that itch, at a budget price too... coupled with the system price drops i think 360 will edge out PS3 this year. Though if sony pulls through on it's promises for 09 then Microsoft is in serious doodoo next year. View

This is why Destructoid reviews shouldn't be counted towards metacritic

I'm probably going to get a wambulance for this but i'm serious, I'm not defending the game nor am i saying that they shouldn't have given it 2/10. They can give it any number they want, but the purpose of Meta Critic is to collect an aggregate scores from sites which have similar standards. 99% of the sites would give 2/10 to a game that was completely broken other then the fact that it booted up and actually started. Destructoid seems to give 2/10 mostly because of overhype and a bad story, they admitted to actually liking some aspects but still gave it a 2. which is fine for a laugh and to get more hits on your site but i don't think that their number score should be taken into consideration, but by all means read the text. View

If i had not listened to any of the Hype for Fable 1 (and there wasn't a loading screen every two minutes) it probably would have been my favourite RPG of last gen (KOTOR takes that) unfortunately i have been paying attention to the Hype on Fable 2 and it better have everything he said is gonna be in there. When i first bought it i couldn't find a quick match at all, figured it was cause it just came out, connected once to this two player match but i was stuck in a lobby while they played. Haven't tried since.. enjoying the game though even if it's a repetitive button masher. View

Manual Camera control wouldn't have worked with the combat system, period. The camera in Force Unleashed (at least in the demo) sucks just as bad, if not worse IMO.

The Death animation is your punishment for dying, the alternative would have been worse. would you rather sit through 15 sec of that or 15 minutes of playing through the same mission loosing all the loot you've picked up on the way? If it had let you skip the animation you wouldn't even bother with trying to stay alive remember Bioshock? if you hate the animation so much then don't die View

every one should review games based on random clips

This game is getting hyped by people who've actually played the damn game, the same people who were sceptical after seeing videos like that one. This wacko on Ninja loot calls watching one crappy video of it an "in Depth" look and is ready to pass judgement. Being reserved is one thing but completely disregarding what's been written about the deep vehicle creation mechanic and gigantic world to explore and basing your decision on a two minute clip is just ignorant. The real news here is

Game Informer actually scored something less than a 9. They really must have hated this game. which would worry me, but after multiple playthrus of the demo I know that I'll enjoy the game in spite of it's glaring flaws ie. dodgy camera, corny voice acting, Jaggie's galore, and plane-Jane foreground scenery and pointless back tracking. Why? because what it does right is what i'm most interested in: The loot collection, customization, Fluid Battle Mechanics(once you get the hang of it), smooth framerate, Tonnes of on-screen enemies to kill and Co-op play. so i don't care what the haters say, I'm getting it anyways.. but what do i know? I haven't heard it yet(i am a regular listener) but i thought i'd just get this in first... If anyone in the world should understand what Penny Arcade was doing it should be a group that calls themselves "Sarcastic Gamers" seriously WTF? if they were honestly offended by it then they should change their name to PC whiners... i think they may have have just been joking around themselves (i'll listen to it at work today and find out) but if their actually serious about it then i think i may just stop listening to their podcast and visiting their site.
