Its the new age of "Gaming" Most O.G.'s that grew up with the Marios and Sonics. Have either out grown this industry or just don't have the same boy-like passion they once had and there for the art and industry as a whole suffers from it. All new games that have been massive success have been bought by the new generation of "Gamers" where Quality and substance is replaced by a simple jolt of "Awesome". My boss at my old job called it the shiny red ball effect. Most new "gamers" only care about the cool with no real passion for the industry they just like what looks cool and trendy, thats why all these new games that have no real innovation have mass success, they show something that looks cool and people buy it cause all their friends have bought it and trend goes from there.
Anyways, whether Uncharted 2 sold 2 or 2 million the game is a stand out and a testament to what the industry should be trying to produce on a more consistent bases instead of just making the same Sh!t to cash in on a name.
